Pretty sure Ion got it legit he was gm of EJ but yeah I haven’t seen a mount in years despite that bug.
Mostly because the prestige that it should have wore off pretty quickly once the floodgates were opened. And it’s a ground mount. I still see it pretty regularly in BGs, considering.
Nah it got remade into a flying mount a while ago pretty sure it’s because even with the “floodgates” opened there probably aren’t more than 2000 max on us servers.
no, thanks. an event that everyone has to work towards, but only a few people get the rewards? sounds stupidly awful. I don’t play this game to be free labor for strangers.
Except it was community driven content for a very few to get that personal ePeen item.

Makes me think of when that guy Amsmoglod posted on twitter that he was accepting gold and parts for when the mount was going to be released on classic. The amount of people who flocked to that and rationalized how it was a smart thing to do was staggering.

It may have been created to make fun of people, but I agree with the idea suggested. I am not going to give it a like, because I feel it was made in bad faith.
This is why I’m glad Blizzard shut down the people wanting mage tower appearances back, if you don’t then there is no reason not to bring everything back from the history of WoW.
All the OG legendaries we can’t get, titles, mounts etc…and at that point they may as well bring back all the old elite PvP sets and remove the rating requirements for them so we can just use marks of honor to get them.
Lucky this is absolute garbage game design and Blizzard has trippled down on not doing this trash as the people asking for it can simply go play another game that already is designed like that.

We didn’t bring back limited time exclusives. The challenge coming back as a remix and offering different rewards for completion isn’t a problem, nor is it a big deal. It would be a major problem if they had been bringing back the original mage tower rewards, or recolors of all of them, but they’re not.
The one exception to the rule being werebear is fine considering the reasoning behind it involving animation / skeleton and the fact that there’s no other model in the game available to players with such animations. This is fine. It looks different enough that it doesn’t diminish the accomplishments of other people. And Blizzard has set prescedent by openly making the comment of respectin player achievement / accomplishment, and effort. Which is good.
This is a non-issue.

Eh, I’m not making fun of people. I legitimately understand the desire to get, say, the Mage Tower appearances because of the experience I had with this particular title. I get that pang of regret whenever I see someone with the title and/or mount. Avoiding that is largely why I got things like the Black Harvest title, the WoD CM weapons, and 36/36 on the Mage Tower. I’m simply stating that if Blizzard acquiesces to any of these requests, it follows that they must acquiesce to all.
And honestly, at this point in the game’s lifestyle… probably not as bad an idea as many kneejerk reactions to these requests would have one believe. The more things there are to do, the better, particularly when Blizzard is struggling to maintain momentum with their play-the-patch model.

You see how people did things on the WoTLK servers? Or on Classic?
I’ve only met one actual Scarab Lord while playing. The rest cheezed it in WotLK - usually allowing multiple people at once to get it. It’s rare, but it doesn’t have the prestige people want it to have.
I’m a firm believer that titles should remain as hyper-exlusive trophies, but giving out the HD version of the mount for having significant participation in a yearly re-do of the event would be more than fine. Something like that should be extremely hard to get, not a hand out.

And again, I find the “bug” that allowed people to complete the quest after the last event completed to be extremely fishy. If my hat were made of tinfoil, I might suggest that someone on the inside flipped the switch for a couple hours to get their buddies that were in the know their completions before deleting the quest from the game…
Agreed. Or at least have a battle bug that is easier to get than the archeology battle bug. 1 percent drop chance, and a 1 percent chance it might actually show up in your solve list. Like, can i at least have a battle bug that has a basic quest line to unlock it lol.
And while we’re at it, no more character-specific cosmetic rewards. Let me be Indomitable on all my characters and teleport to all the WoD dungeons for no real advantage. If we’re going to do it for Gladiators, it follows that we should do it for everyone.
