But it didn’t though. People were being blocked from gearing by this system. People hated it when it was in place. There’s a reason Blizzard changed it, and a reason people in this thread are telling others they don’t want it back.
In GL lets say 6 items drop. You might not be able to roll on any of them giving you a 0% chance of winning an upgrade. Even the most stubborn of people who don’t get math have to understand that is a true statement.
Let’s push that the other other extreme. You can roll Need on all 6 items and you can lose all 6 items. One person can clean house…
This is called low odds of winning.
Now for PL…
In PL lets say 6 items are awarded… You have a 6/25 chance of winning an item. That is BETTER odds of winning something, consistently, ON EVERY BOSS.
PL is more loot, more consistently, and not dependent on raid composition. On GL your % of winning something is much lower if the raid comp isn’t in your favor.
Not sure how people can’t follow logic. Braindead wow community doin its thing.
Oh I know people didn’t like it, but wasn’t the “cheesing” the actual reason for change? I could be wrong about that.
Just for the record, I am NOT a fan of PL, I’m only commenting on the reasons for changing it to GL and then doing nothing about the daily/weekly threads about how much GL loot rules are terrible.
It was A reason. Not the only one. The system was VERY flawed. Like I said above, the entire time Personal loot was in place I only ever got One piece of gear that wasn’t a ring or trinket. Any other time, was just gold.
Another incorrect statement. We rolled on 7 items the other day. Maybe you don’t count profession patterns/formulas / toys /pets as drops but they certainly are.
Literally did not say a thing about if you would have a better chance at loot or not, I am talking about the complaint people have of people rolling need on and winning items that are not an ilevel upgrade. Which OP mentions.
And as everyone has already explained, it IS based on raid composition because if I have a raid of 30 druids and or monks under personal loot, leather gear will always drops, no strength weapons will drop, and the only thing they wouldn’t be able to pass between them is tier because they’re not on the same tier token.
Nah, personal loot can stay where it is - in legacy content. LFR gives the same ilvl as Mythic +2 gear, AND now you have more than enough charges to get your 4 set.
About the only things you might want are some trinkets, but in like half, if not more classes’ BiS is a M+ trinket.
I only use LFR when I’m being lazy, but I rarely expect to get gear. Personal Loot needs to stay out of the game. I got the same chance to get gear with or without Personal Loot. Besides, Bonus Rolls existed before Personal Loot, released back in Warlords.
That is incorrect. the system rolled once for everyone per boss and when the winners were determined it would then roll to see what you won. You still have ONE chance per boss.
