Yeah… corrupt guilds like that never lasted long, or got very far.

I’ve seen too many of those, I was happy to see personal loot.
remeber those scummy guilds that used the rank 25 perk for there own personal gold pile?
like they would just spam invite random levelers just to get the extra 99 coper every 1 gold the member loots.

Yep. I once knew a guy running 4 zerg guilds for that reason. Was gold capped on at least 2 characters.
ill be fairly honest though i miss that perk.
we turn guild repairs off sometimes now because of our low funds.
They should boost the gold you get for the guild daily things.

Being on a high pop server and having everyone who could invite be AFK was hell.
I hadn’t seen that level of spam since SusanExpress’ peak.
ML / LC guilds have a nasty reputation for distributing loot to their “core” raiders (AKA: friends) over other players in the run. While I would like to think that this doesn’t happen in most guilds, it DID happen in enough guilds that it was a problem.
“Well just join another guild if you don’t like it” - Yeah, after several weeks of not getting any loot at all, you now start to fall behind the gear curve and have a harder time getting into progression guilds.
“So and so only did 30K DPS, they don’t deserve any loot.” or “So and so died half way through the fight, so they don’t get anything”. - If they were part of the kill, they are locked out of that boss for the week. They were part of the kill and thus deserve a chance at loot.
“Our core raiders are there every raid and thus should have priority on any loot.” - Those core raiders deserve a chance at loot for every kill they were in on. They get priority raid spots for being “core”. If you only gear up your core, you will have a hard time with any progression that your “core” can’t carry through. Also, many of your “core” will leave for more progressed guilds.
“We should have the choice on how loot is distributed” - In a perfect world where there aren’t greedy / corrupt ML/LC, sure. But there is always going to be a significant amount of guilds that abuse the system and screw over other players.
So… no, ML should not be brought back. PL gives everyone a fair chance at experiencing and progressing in the game and and only seems to upset those who are no longer getting fed gear.

So, then perhaps there was a time when it was appropriate, but even then probably not. Now, it’s definitely inappropriate.

I’ve actually been pretty lucky so far, and I still hate it. 
Which is why with PL going mandatory, you’ve chosen to start raiding again because it’s finally fair?

Designing a loot system for raids to appease non-raiders is stupid.

Hence why no one is asking for PL to be removed. There are pro’s and con’s of both loot systems. If you didn’t want to accept the risks of ML during Legion, then you didn’t join a ML guild.
I’ve also said it before, and I’ll say it again. I’ve never been the ML for the progression teams I’ve been a part of, I’ve never had control of the loot, I had the lowest ilvl for our M Argus kill, and I’ve had both great luck with PL (BoD) and terrible luck with PL (Nya’lotha). Forced PL was still a terrible design choice. Taking away player choice is never a good thing, and I’m still shocked how many people on this forum seem to think it is a good thing.

I’ve never been in a guild that experienced any of this enough that it became a recurring problem. ML should be brought back.

eh. not a good idea. even if you werent in a guild group who did take our word for it.

masterloot pugs where even worst. like stealthfully ninja all the loot without even giving the rest anything.
I don’t think anyone wants WoD ML back. Most in these threads are asking for Legion ML, where 80% of the run had to be guildies. Heck I’d even hazard a guess and say most of those would be fine with what I’d like, which is 100% of the run has to be guildies to use it.
If a guild tries to force you to join their guild to be a part of their run… Leave the run?

Agreed, but scumbag guilds are still scumbag guilds regardless of whether ML is a thing or not. I’m not sure why people would be willing to be a part of such guilds if they knew that the only reason that they weren’t being stabbed in the back by their “friends” was because their friends knives were locked up.

Master Loot pugs were not a thing last expansion and they were fine.
