Breastplate of Annihilation or Savage Gladiator Chain?

the 1 hit is really nice on a chest piece. a lot of people say you only need 6% hit which is the soft cap but i personally like running 9 which i believe every warrior should run regardless of hs queueing cuz you hit more white attacks and get more rage especially when youre world buffed, i also notice A LOT less double misses than when i used to run 6-7.

2.5 chest is probably the best piece of gear for a warrior from aq40 tho, the amount of stats on it are nuts and you can go +4 stats enchant and have them scale with zg and kings buff(if youre alliance) which is even more crazy. i have boa and i still plan on getting 2.5 chest soon

Well I’m just saying that warrior gear has too much hit late game, it’s easy to get to 9% so it becomes not very valuable later. So i would rather just have damage stats

In practice it very rarely works like that. Unless you’re really undergeared, pretty much every warrior is way over hit cap.

#1 is just literally untrue. They’re right about #2 and #3 sorry. Also, “sixty upgrades” lists are often just flat out wrong.

Its a side-grade vs SGC. Buffed its very marginally better.

the value of crit over 25% depends on how much hit you have. The more hit you have the higher your crit cap goes. Once you are crit capped then AP is better than crit. With world buffs its definitely now with current gear.

Are you dual wielding?

If so, hit is always valuable over the 6/9%. Sometimes moreso than Crit.

It always has some value, its just incredibly low relative to every other stat. Crit is almost always more valuable than hit. Fully world buffed with double ele stones, LOTP and songflower, they’re about equal.

“Better” isnt how you should look at it. All stats have a relative value. Ap isnt “better” or “worse” than crit, but its weighted differently in different situations, and depending on if you’re buffed or unbuffed.
Usually they doesnt come into play anyway though and you just want whatever gives the most total stats. Scaled Sand Reaver legs though are an example of an item that are particularly good (arguably bis) when unbuffed but fall behind when buffed.

If one stat produces a better result then it is “better”…

You’re not following. Pretty simple concept.

Stats aren’t weighted 1 to 1. You can’t say crit is better than strength because 1 crit is better than 1 strength. Thats clearly an inane comparison.

Not sure why you feel the need to quote me. I, unlike the OP, understand the relationship between hit and crit, and how they work toward DPS.

if you are over crit cap 1 AP is literally worth more than ANY amount of crit. For someone sitting at the soft cap that was like 6 months ago

That is 10000000000000000% not true. Maybe stick to the level 22 priest tips and leave the warrior stuff to the big kids?

Maybe stick to loldruid memes…

But seriously. You’re so incredibly wrong there its really hard to believe youve ever played a warrior…

If you are at 305 weap skill and have 9% hit, your WHITE attacks will be

40% glancing
6% doge
6% base miss
10% DWield miss

Which leaves you with 38% as the “cap” for white hits. If you are fully buffed, you can get easily over 40% crit. So, for white hits, going over 38% crit is useless, but all your heroic strikes, BThirsts and Execute will still gain from being over the 38% crit.

EDIT: Not to mention, your offhand WHITE attacks would be treated as yellow when heroic strike is queued so those too would benefit from more hit.

soft hit cap at 305 weapon skill leaves your yellow attack crit cap at 59% which was achievable, in fury prot gear, prior to AQ being released. Fury Arms didn’t even need BiS to do this with world buffs, proper group comp, and proper consumes. This made 1ap better than any amount of crit until you added more hit. Period, end of discussion.

You can test yourself, run a sim with 10% hit and see if your dps goes up. If it does, it’s not a “Hard” cap.

Noone is hitting 60% crit now, and the yellow cap is actually much higher . They definitely werent hitting it “in fury/prot gear before Aq.”
Period end of discussion

You literally have no idea what you’re talking about. Good memes though

Soft cap is yellow hits, and hard cap is white hits. The terminology doesn’t change just because it’s virtually impossible to hit the latter.
