I would suggest something more like
for open world/delves. generally speaking. thats typically what i would use myself.
You either have to sim it, or watch a video/read article from someone who has crunched the numbers
Usually they say something like “don’t break your 4 pc unless the non tier is 20 item levels higher or whatever the math says.”

Don’t worry I’m just mucking around wtih loadouts I save all of them.
The advice about tiers is also good for my other alts. My mage I will have to look at next to see if its worth breaking S1 tier. Frost mage does good numbers so maybe not.
same. i have a ST, raid cleave, council, m+/ae, and delves build for each stormbringer and totemic.
ive probably spent an hour or so this last week alone for st and ae builds at the training dummies. just getting my muscle memory down.
I know when The War Within launched I used my season 4 tier set on my Enhancement Shaman until they broke it after I had reached level 80. Thought I used it for at least a week or two before the change. Personally, I think tier sets should break at the next level after last expansion level cap and not allow you to get to current max level cap then break it.
Currently have 38 level 80’s, 31 in 597-600 and 7 620-621 all in tier sets. Since I don’t typically do Mythic content or anything above bountiful tier 8 or Looking for Raid due to having had two fingers amputated on my dominate mouse hand. With the new season it will be hit or miss on what I upgrade from S1 to S2 when it comes to breaking sets.
