Brand new classic account banned for no reason

That sucks, dude :frowning:

Well, unfortunately you have two options: make a new account and sub again or wait for your appeal.

But no matter which you pick, run a bunch of security scans on your computer. Clean out your download folder.

Yeah iā€™m not giving blizzard anymore money if this doesnā€™t fixed today, classic wow was literally the reason i came back and then this happens. Hell the account might not get unbanned nor will i receive the money back i spent on game time, which apparently is $15 for an hour of gameplay, good value huh?

Also they donā€™t work on weekends right? So realistically iā€™m looking at 3-5 days of no account account access at best.

I donā€™t blame you. I can imagine how frustrating this is.

They work on weekends, though it still will likely be at least a day or two until you hear anything.

That email message, along with the time frame, makes me think that it was either a Billing issue, or they detected behavior that is common on brand new accounts used to exploit/bot/cheat/spam.

How did you purchase the game time for the license you created? Could that payment have failed? Could it have been illicit gold that was used to buy a token and game time?

Nope payment was fine, paid with paypal and didnā€™t have an issue.

It is possible bliz suspect something strange about the new account and banned it.

Not what i wanted to see when i woke up this morning.

Dear,

Issue ID: #102272626

A Game Master resolved your ticket, and left the following response:

Hi,
Iā€™m Game Master Adutaggixu and Iā€™ll address the situation of your Battle.net account.

After further investigation, this account has been permanently closed due to a violation in the terms of use, Iā€™ve reviewed the action additional time and Iā€™ve confirmed the initial findings, this action is now upheld and will not be reversed or changed.

We understand that you may still have concerns regarding the action, but we must reiterate that it was taken to address a violation of the Terms of Use, Code of Conduct and End User License Agreement, Keep in mind that this is something that all players accept before logging into the game.
We understand that these policies may seem harsh, but they are in place to ensure that every player is able to enjoy their time in our games. Thanks for respecting our position and decision.

Take care.

Again i donā€™t know what the hell happened or why but its nice to know blizzard can ban an account without cause or reason. Next step is trying to get a refund for game time, i paid for a month and only got to use an hour but i donā€™t even think iā€™ll get that from blizzard.

Are you sure your old account is in good standing?
Maybe something happened to it and now any new accounts youā€™re deemed to have created are kill-on-sight?

Yup itā€™s the one iā€™m posting from and i can log into it on bnet without problems.

No, they donā€™t refund game time if you use any of the game time block at all. Account penalties would also make it ineligible for a refund, even if the game time qualified - which it does not because it was activated.

If you change your mind about a recent purchase, or if you havenā€™t used it, weā€™ll try to work with you on a refund.

We may withdraw refund eligibility for abuse of this policy. The same goes for violations of the In-Game Code of Conduct or the End User License Agreement.

Subscriptions

Weā€™ll refund any unused World of Warcraft subscription within 14 days of the purchase.

We wonā€™t refund subscription time lost due to a suspension and/or permanent account closure. For permanent account closures and suspensions longer than 15 days, we will cancel upcoming recurring subscriptions.

Yeah im actually done with blizzard then, i really only had interest in classic wow and even then i was just debating it, now that iv been screwed over it will be easier to stay away this time.

The real kicker is they wonā€™t even tell me why it was banned just EULA this and that, whatever, this is one customer that wonā€™t be back.

And you can play WoW without problems on it?

I donā€™t have a sub on it nor do i have retail installed, iā€™d assume its fine tho.

Your ticket you put in was as an appeal for a sanctioned account, but from the sound of your letter, it seems more like a believed compromised account.

Try instead to submit a ticket here, if you donā€™t mind giving it a shot: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/product/wow/181/942/solution

This is the path in response to a compromised account rather than an appeal. Once you get it cleared up that whatever transactions or whatnot might have flagged the account, they can do their thing to lift the ban.

Hopefully, this will do the trick, unless one of our SFAs pops in to tell me Iā€™m way off base here and gives you better (and more!) information and assistance. I should have pushed for this before, but Iā€™m running on very minimal sleep at the moment and my brain didnā€™t connect so well with my typing fingers.

Iā€™ll give it a try, at this point there is nothing else i can do.

Appeals will only ever be answered with one of only a couple templates that best fit the situation.

Sending in for a compromised account - this will likely have them asking you to verify your account with whatever questions. You can make note of it being a valid new account with valid transactions, and pressing that you are the owner of the account. Whatever the system flagged you on, you can disprove and allow for them to release your account once more.

Iā€™m hopefully going to crash finally, but I do wish you luck in getting this figured out. If you have the time, let us know how this turns out, if you could please?
