I’m behind anything that stops the bots.
But I think, also, a good idea would be to give players no reason to buy gold.
If people are buying gold to get that cool mount, put it on the trading post.
If people are buying gold to get battle pets, make battle pets easier to obtain. No more 2500 charms, no more 5000 charms. At least, not if it encourages gold-buying.
This is really the only way to make it stop.
One day they will be able to get them. It’s real hard to figure it out.
It seems it is finally got banned after 2 weeks. Really hope blizzard could hire a real person GM, with the current players base size. It can eliminate 99% of bottling problem.
I havent played SoD or any Classic, maybe I am missing out.
On live there are a few spots where 8 or so toons are farming, seemingly 5-6 are bots, while the others are geared and are there to defend what looks like bots.
My GF and I more often lately will fly over and wipe the lot of them for fun while we wait for dungeon queues.
Normally there is 2 HDHs and one Ret Pally as the bot security force but they are not the best pvp players and attack into our Blessing of Spellwarding and bubbles often enough thay maybe they are bots too.
I’m not sure what amount deflation of value on what they farm does to the AH economy, but it is fun knowing they are always there if World PvP is on our list of things to do.
With new hardware hacks and Ai becoming easier and easier to get. Today will be the worse day for bots in all of gaming and tomorrow will be even worse.
I used to enjoy taking a play session just going around mining/herbing and now all I see is bots going around in circles over and over. It becomes a race to a node hoping it’s not about to despawn.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten to a node and started mining to have it despawn before I finished.
I gave up.
If Blizzard doesn’t start banning them faster and stop with the “We wait and monitor so we can take them all out at the same time and find all their resources(Guilds, alts etc)”
I don’t like cheating, but it’s almost as if Blizz is telling us to all just bot so we can actually get ore/herbs.
They will just make new accounts and do it again. Only way to fix it is to create a I am human test each time you try harvest.
warmode auto set to on , payment required to turn off(no blizz coins)
That could get annoying and ruin the immersion of the game though.
I don’t know if this battle can be won.
If Blizz were to make a lot of things require in game rewarded currency from Dungeons, raids, PvP, WQ, etc and it’s up to the player to farm them and can’t gain them from another player, maybe.
Blizz sorta helps with botting by adding BMAH and WoW token. It encourages players to want more gold.
The only way to fight against Ai Botting will be to make it harder for the Ai to aquire. Otherwise the whole mechanic will have to be removed. Or I mean you could pay some random admins to ghost players more and fix the problem. Though that would cost money and need to hire people so…
Almost all of them arent there yet. It’s still self written script kiddie free stuff people are using and getting away with.
2 weeks is to long. they get enough time to farm to make it worth to come back.
Makes it worth for me not to.
Not to mention Mage bots spend virtually 90% of their leveling time in stockades.
This should be detectable within days.
Legit 0 excuse to let bots run in a INSTANCE for weeks.
