It is non gear . Kind of like the thing in the Netherstorm or building your traits at your Class Hall type of thing .

If it’s mini systems like the rings or the belt or cloak, fine. I’ll grumble a little, then ignore it until it’s no longer timegated. Then I’ll maybe mess with it.
Anything larger than that, expansion wide that screws over a talent system… that’s when I’ll have words.

Just look at things like the Onyx Annulet, Cyrce’s Circlet, and DISC belt. It’s a small temporary boost, not the main focus of the expansion like artifact weapons or azerite powers were.

There’s a difference between borrowed power like tier… and borrowed power systems.

This isn’t what people generally mean when they talk about borrowed power. It’s when classes are designed with intentional holes in their kit and rotation that is then filled by borrowed power that is problematic.
It probably won’t work next season either.

Very minor, easy to get from a weekly quest, like belt, or ring, or tier bonus. Let’s not doom it just yet.
I’ve never understood the uproar about borrowed power since you lose pretty much everything each expansion anyways, but I am getting tired of having a hundred little “chance to do 5k damage” effects

Given that it’s not tied to an item, it will be interesting to see how/when it gets decommissioned.

Borrowed power players hate are expansion wide and requires you to partake into content you don’t like just to be competitive in content you do like. Like doing torghast to get your legendaries, or world quest to level up your weapon, said weapon that was in an expansion without any weapon drop, which are usually fun to get or transmog into.

Unless you raid for weeks and the weapon you need never drops save for one time and you roll a 18. (RNG is dumping on my pally in MoP)
