Bnet desktop app complications

I’ve been having similar problems with my desktop app as others but this started over 12 hours ago for me. I was switching between Classic and Retail and the app has been “connecting” ever since. I have in that time shut down, updated, checked internet connectivity and followed a number of instructions suggested by your troubleshooting guides but none have worked so far. I saw someone else posted as having the same issue however that seemed to be linked to the current maintenance being done. Do you perhaps have any suggestions for someone suffering the problem from before maintenance began, please?
I am currently in the process of re-installing everything in hopes that it may do the job, unfortunately the loading window has been fixed on “Updating Blizzard Agent” for quite some time although, I’m sure I can put this down to the current scheduled maintenance.

I’d say there is a very good chance that although this may have started for you earlier, it is being impacted by maintenance.

I’d totally shut the launcher down, then check it after maint is finished.

Reinstalling the launcher may be needed, but I wouldn’t do that till after you determine there is still an issue after maint is finished.

Check again once maintenance is finished. If you are still having issues, post in Technical Support.

Hey! I was having Bnet problems all last night, like I wasn’t getting whispers in classic or on the Bnet launcher, and my friends weren’t getting my messages even tho they were sent out. But I could send and receive them from my phone which was odd.

I believe this could’ve been a problem that they planned on fixing during this current maintenance. So I’d wait till its over and see what happens, which it’s ending in less then a minute! Unless they extend it :).

I was already in the reinstalling process but I closed it due to the ongoing maintenance. I am now trying again and receiving the same issue as before where the loading window still seems to be stuck on “Updating Blizzard Agent…” and has been at this point with no progress for the last 35 minutes. (Thank you for your quick response before.)

Updating Blizzard Agent makes me wonder if you have more than one launcher going. It can be hard to tell that outside of Task Manager. Rebooting your system would usually address that, if that is the case.

Reboot done, Task Manager opened, issue persisting. By all means, if you think I’m being impatient with download times just tell me. I really appreciate your responses and response time.

Not at all, Elwynchui - but that often resolves this. You can leave it sit running for awhile. Sometimes it looks like it is downloading, when it is really doing some processing and looks stalled.

Dare I speak too soon, but we have success at long last! It would appear that I had some teeny, tiny bnet files tucked away in my PC that were preventing the reinstall altogether. Thank you for your time and help, consider this solved
