What is the client size nowadays, 40gig? It'll take me all day to download it. I haven't touched WoW since 2008.
YOu just need it playable which is like 40mb, dont need a sub, just need to get to the realmlist. The people im talking to are thinking its an issue with accounts and this just kind of gives it its proper access.

Dont even need to get into game jsut realm list. So if you dont have the game downloaded get it to play able get to realm list and boom fixed

can someone please investigate what logging into retail changes LOCALLY? I dont have 52G free on my computer to start downloading retail just to start a trial for this fix.

Changes nothing locally as far as we can tell. Its a server side account issue from what I can tell

I could kiss you right now. You were right, I only had to download like 200mb, log in, load the realmlists and my character list, log out and launch Classic.

SOLUTION: Log into retail.
woah.. can confirm i only downloaded 200MB of the game after deleting a bunch of stuff on my computer to start the download to get the fix. it worked and i didnt need to finish the download.
Can confirm this is server side code for for logging data. Nothing can be done locally.

Fedora 29 - Stock WINE from repository. Playing Undead Warrior successfully now. I was getting BLZ51901021 until I downloaded the WoW retail client long enough to get to the character selection screen. No active sub and no BfA purchased.

Pretty sure those are graphic settings shouldn't change anything. As a matter of fact they were probably changed by the classic client when the loggin was finally successful. Getting recommended settings and such

Holy crap this worked for me, thank you! I don't have an active sub for anyone who wants to know, can still log into BFA and select realms if you're inactive.
