There’s no real technically about it tbh it can DPS. Its just a underperformer if you’re someone who gives a **** about min-maxing.
I think for 5-man content, especially while leveling, there is no need to dual-spec a DK. Run blood for questing and running dungeons. That way, you can tank in frost presence or DPS in blood presence as you like. buff your heart strike and cleave away. while dpsing, it might seem unecessary to death strike but keep it in your rotation. You generate death runes (if talented) and then can bomb away with heart strikes.
I am not talking about raiding as blood. I am sure more informed people than me can min-max that discussion.
I am talking about 70-80 content. stuff just gets blown up. I 4-manned nexus last night with kara-ish geared toons. for leveling dungeons, every spec does enough damage to clear stuff.
most guides are based upon the “best” of everything. there is still room for playing what you want if you are running with people also willing to run that way, too.

That’s incorrect.
Blood dps is one of, if not the hardest hitting spec in the game.
The problem is that you have to wait til endgame and have gear with armor penetration.
Same with arms warrior.
So you gear a blood dk you will gear an arms warrior and you will do mega dps later.
Um…a geared Fury Warrior outclasses Arms in every category. I’m not sure you know what you’re talking about…
In fact, both Arms and Blood are two of the lowest ranked dps by phase 4, only Sub rogue and Frost mage are even lower

If you gear as a tank then yes, but if you gear with high armor pen then blood dk is the highest single target dps put there.
There is no harder hitting melee power than heart strike backed by high armor pen

and look how unholy is parsing better than every class. Frost in 3.3.5 wasnt always beating unholy. And now first raid week has shown unholy on top. as a DW unholy meme spec.
