Blizzcon this year will be ..... interesting

I get Blizzconned every day I wait for things they should have had months ago…

A working game
Flying
Kul Tirians
Etc…

We’ve all been conned. Maybe they’ll do a preorder for something else. I feel like I backed a Kickstarter campaign instead of buying an expansion pack to WoW.

Yeah? Well lets play with that hypothetical.

What would happen if a person chosen decided to change their question when they asked it? You know, from the agreed one to one that puts a Developer on the spot? Lets say we’re at Blizzcon, and Joe Poster gets to ask a question in the Q&A. The Developer thinks it’ll be a question on S.E.L.F.I.E. (or some other feature), but instead Joe Poster ignores his pre-selected question and goes.

"So yeah man. Had another question. But here’s my real one. Insert whatever other inane, silly, buzz topic is trending on the forums that players claim “the man” won’t answer." because questions are curated.

Can you honestly tell me that Blizzard would refuse to answer? I frankly don’t think that would happen. I think the Devs might perhaps be annoyed (I definitely would) but I expect they would answer the truthfully as they have everything else, provided they actually have the information. One must remember that in game design, no single person has ALL the answers at any given time.

Because of that, I think the amount of curation you believe they do is inaccurate.

That could be entirely true; however, believing that any topic you don’t agree with or have an opinion on is

is pretty arrogant and patronizing don’t you think?

A lot of us do that. I think we’re trying to be polite, sort of. Like “this is interesting” sounds better than “EUUUGH!?” but also indicates that we’re not sold on it.

Not unless you feel I’m calling out a specific person or topic, which I was not.

Not anyone in particular. Just entire groups that ask questions you don’t think merit answers. You know what they say, “There are no dumb questions…” just “inane, silly, buzz topic” ones.

blizzcon is already mobile tho, I have the app still on my phone from watching it last year.

If you say so. I’m not going to engage in trying to read other people’s minds, put words in other people’s mouthes, or try to glean extra meaning from phrases intentionally left vague. Enough people try to as is on the forums, which is why I expect Blues are so very careful when they ‘do’ post something.

Look at why people are upset at wow panels and you have your answer :joy:

You know the guy at Blizzcon who asked “that question” about Diablo Immortal? Thats what he did.

I imagine it will be like every other Blizzcon, packed and filled with fans of Blizzard games.

The forums do not represent the playerbase. They never have, they never will.

All about 9.0

I would be amazed if Blizzcon isn’t just a gigantic 9.0 hype train and BFA is scarcely discussed outside a couple panels.

Does it matter what they say? Whatever they say will be discarded to satisfy the forum agenda…
