Blizzcon Key Art (2026)

Thrall looking straight up haggard here. Maybe a hint of some bad doodoo going down beyond the first patch. One thing that does strike me as curious is that Thrall’s lower lip is black here, not unlike Warsong chieftains.

Which is weird because he and his parents are from the Frostwolf clan, not warsong. But when has details ever mattered to blizz :face_with_tongue:

they really just brought thrall back so they could use him solely as advertisement.

Most of the voice over for the teaser video is Thrall and Sylvanas. Can’t help but appreciate the irony of Horde icons being the face of the brand.

Sylvanas truly is the money maker.

Thrall always has the best designs. Shame he’s never given a story worthy of them. He’s always stuck being an Alliance accessory to pretend Blizz is writing a story inclusive of half their playerbase. So he’s either wallowing in being a self-hating Orc, or having mommy issues for the 3rd time.

Bluntly, the same goes for Baine. Dude being Peace Oriented isnt the problem. Its that Baine being that is being used as an excuse to render him little more than a token good Horde Plot-Device; while any stories beyond that are the first thing apparently left on the cutting room floor. We know Baine had content cut in Cata and Legion; and pretty safe guess the same happened in SLs. Give them actual stories Blizz!

But … instead we have a Expac where we’re finally looking to bring the Amani into the fold, and there is no Troll rep to be seen. Hey, Blizz, if you wanted to actually develop Rokhan as a leader of the Darkspear AND have the perfect excuse to differentiate him from Jin, then him showing his political chops in serving as a middleman between the BEs and Amani would be that chance. But … I suppose its more important to retcon the crap out of Arator, so you can pretend he’s “Horde Representation”. When you replace Lor with him as the BE lead.

What you don’t want another quest of thrall going “wow jaina you’re so strong and powerful, i’m not even mad about the time you tried to wipe out my entire race during a psychotic break.”

I’m still patiently waiting for the How Thrall Got His Groove Back quest chain that is going to send people into complete meltdowns filling their diapers. It is coming. I promise it is coming.

Don’t worry, from what seen in the datamined and form the promo material I think Jaina has been slowly phase out of the main story for now to be in the new Alliance players experience starting map.

Someone at Blizz is hard at work and using all their seniority influence, to keep Jaina safe as the Mentor figure like Thrall but to the new Alliance Players.
I guess that ominous promo-scene of Xal were it shows Jaina looking powerful and strong as ever and insinuating that she revels in her power saying: “You revel in Power that can’t withstand what it to come.” Not happening.
Was kinda hoping of a story of Xal affecting Jaina or her home, showing how powerless she is against the Void. Or even better a cinematic Clash between these 2… but I guess it would end like our poor Khadgar and we can’t have that.

I would have also be totally ok Jaina being revealed by Xal to be a Dreadlord! It would be such a twist no one would be ready for… (joking)

Thrall looked empowered in the TWW art and in the last Blizzcon art and look where that left us lol

They’re only using Thrall as a token

It is simple, really. As soon as Thrall remembers to cover his nipples, his powers will return. Everyone knows that shamans can’t commune properly with the elements when their nipples are out.

I don’t know if it means anything. He always ends up in promotional stuff. Not really in the game much. At this point, I’m not falling for any of their teases.

To be fair, pretty sure TWW Loading Screen Thrall was supposed to be Magni. That height difference and pose. Just someone at Blizz musta realized last minute “oh crap, we should at least pretend the Horde is being included” … then shuffled Thrall in instead.

Thrall’s brooding because he wasn’t allowed to share the artwork with Jaina.

Jaina practically has a whistle only Thrall can hear; I’m surprised none of his redesigns featured a collar.

You guys crack me up!

Such passive savageness I almost picture you RP, saying it with your avatar steeping arctea and saying with a condescending tone!

Weird how there’s a Terran Marine when Starcraft has essentially died as a franchise for Blizzard.

They keep trying to trick us with Thrall as bait.

It’s a shame that the bait works.

I was happy to hear Sylvanas. I was like “yay!”

Makes me think they aren’t done with the old broad just yet. I am glad they ignore her haters and keep her in the mix. I don’t think she will ever win over the Garithos/Arthas LARPers, but she definitely has her fans.

My concern with her remains that who we “get back” isn’t the person people miss. The pre-patch quest didn’t go full Ranger-General at least.

Though I only ever attended one Blizzcon (2009) in person, Horde fans particularly tend to be the loudest and most excited at Blizzcons, so they are particularly marketed to at those.
