BlizzCon 2019

You couldnt just go to e3…It was press only the only way you get in is A) your a celebrity. B) you work in game journalism for a known site. The first e3 open to the public was 2017… and thats not way back in the day safe to assume you never went along with the other 99 percent of the population. Didnt mean to ruin your story but at least make it believable.

I hope you like phone games!

I know. I worked for Dynamix/Sierra back then. I was a moderator for Starsiege, Tribes, and later on they made a forum for TF2, even though that game never released until after I stopped working for them. They sent us passes back then. Was pretty amazing. We also got paid as moderators and got free games. But that was a time long ago.

Nice assumption.

It’s really only worth it every other year.

When they don’t have an xpac to announce you get a crapfest like last year.

For me, it would be more about traveling that far, spending that much money, for basically only one game, since I don’t really play the others.

But I would never begrudge anyone else their excitement and fun. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nope. Personally I already have given this company more time and attention than other gaming entities. I don’t need to be in person to the backpatting event, that is what the internet is for.

Sorry you wasted money on this only to be given a pep talk that never fixes what the teams broke the past 3 xpacs.

Yeah but back in the day E3 had games that were worth checking out, not the latest asset flip, microtransaction, live service.

Go to California…on purpose!? No thank you, hard pass on that. Have you seen all the homeless there!? The plague has come back! That state needs to figure things out, stop charging so much for rent and help it’s people.

Indeed. It was pretty exciting! I remember watching them demo Steel Battalion-- absolutely amazing controller system for that game. And also remember Half Life 2’s debut. Of course, that ended up to be a waste of time standing in line.

Blizzcon might have been a big deal back in 2005-6 but at this point the games such a $$ farming machine who really cares to go dress up like Pikachu and get drunk in a hotel room, only to wake up with a sore b.u.m and an empty wallet.

The state doesn’t charge rent. The rent is charged by the people who own the buildings and it scales with property value. We also have programs here where if you fall under a certain income bracket you can buy an affordable unit by paying only 1/3 of your income each month. You get rewarded for doing less. The welfare state ruined this place, not hard working people that made good financial decisions.
