Blizzard's Pet Monster - The AI Chat Censor

I want people to police their own community and solve the problem using in game means. It shouldn’t be up to a group to decide what is and isn’t allowed (beyond things clearly beyond the pale defined by law).

I want people to take responsibility for themselves.

That’s not even possible. Ignore just makes them invisible to you, it doesn’t solve anything. Reporting them sends the attention to Moderators, which work for Blizzard, so it’s always been Blizzard.

So far, the only place this will be implemented…is only the official Overwatch League Streams. And considering how different that is from any other stream, and how much money is involved for Blizzard…its not the same as your typical in game chat.

Doesn’t it solve every single issue from everyone’s perspective if it makes them invisible to you?

What does it solve beyond two specific peoples problems? Those being the one trying to annoy other people and the other who wants to see someone be punished?

No?!?! Me and them aren’t the only people playing.

Thank you and sincerely.
This is an eloquent and complete thesis of my thoughts.:slightly_smiling_face:

Can you tell me who these mystery people are who do not fall into the camps I mentioned?

I personally know people who have stopped playing Overwatch simply because of how toxic and unforgiving the community can be at times. That’s lost revenue for Blizzard. That’s lost goodwill towards any future purchases. That’s the consequence of not addressing this issue: players leave.

There are venues where one can say what they want. Blizzard games are not one of those venues and have never been such a venue.

… wow.

I will take that as a no…

Other people might like him and might not want him removed from game. You aren’t the only person playing!

Correct. I and them aren’t the only ones playing. They might have friends. They might be harassing plenty of people who have friends.

Or you might be the only person that finds it as harassment.

Maybe? That’s for the moderators to decide from the reports and events.

Such as my example ignore covers this… you have no victims to conjure into this argument like shades.

Because there are no examples. I mean victims.

… what are you even talking about? If someone is being offensive/harassing someone/groups there’s consequences. I’m not the only one playing this game. You seem to think only in instances of something affecting you.

I think you are either feigning ignorance of what we just talked about or I lack the simplicity of language to explain it to you properly but I shall try.

There are consequences that is being ignored by other players. That simple concept covers every single scenario of being offensive or harassing others except two.

It does nothing to make the person trying to ignore others feel better and it does nothing for those who get a ghoulish glee out of seeing others suffer from bans/silences.

There are no other groups this affects.

Demanding everyone just ignore problems is neither consequences nor does it solve the problem.

^ Those people are not the people who want to stop the harassment, but nice try.
