Then where do you draw the line to keep it from being abused in the future?
2 decades in the game, never needed an AH outside a city. No one does, objectively speaking. You can literally forget to put on your upgrades for 2 weeks and do fine, you can absolutely be fine without doing AH transactions for 30 minutes out there. This mount is a waste of $90. We all waste money on dumb stuff, me included, but I don’t pretend my useless purchases are not useless just to justify them. Anyone not currently in a coma or dead or under 5 years old realizes this mount is a waste of money.
You will go in the city, there will be an AH right next to you, the mount doesn’t save you any time, if anything you’re wasting the time of everyone in your group by telling them to wait so you can finish your AH stuff in their face in a dungeon.
“But what if I run out of consumables blablabla?”
Just don’t. Literally just don’t. When you inevitably go to a city, look or already know what you’re running low on from your previous use, and buy what you need. Just have many of them on you so when you’re doing a few dungeons in a row you don’t run out cuz you had 2 flasks on you instead of 40 like you should. Keep that number at 40 every time you go to a city. Never have to make people wait to buy stuff inside a dungeon.
How would one abuse faction transferring and picking the wrong race?
It’s not your right to say what is and isn’t a waste of people’s money, objectively if you get use out of it or enjoy it it’s not wasted be it time or money. One of the things I find extremely relaxing in game is to farm ore/plants and sell them for gold, if I can pop on a little dino boi for 10 seconds to clear my bags so I can continue to do what I enjoy I think that justifies the purchase for me personally.
What I meant by that is if they continually switched races constantly. How many “my bad” should be given to someone?
I’m not positive they picked the wrong race. I don’t think I made my Dracthyr Alliance either.
I’m not seeing the abuse opportunity.
If someone does a race change and immediately submits a ticket, it’s pretty clear that’s an error. If someone does it after a week, it’s pretty clear buyers remorse and wouldn’t fall into the oopsy bucket.
So you paid for a race change
You picked the character to change
You selected the new race
You customized the character’s appearance
You had to select the spec
You had to click confirm… twice…
and this is Blizz’s fault? Just how entitled are you so we can all get a sense of the density.
Uh yeah… you literally had to double confirm your choice giving you ample time to go “Oh crap, wait, wrong race!” even though you probably customized their appearance so you did not have to spend too much time in a barbershop.
No, I think they have never raised the price of a sub in 20 years, and still offer a base kit game at a reasonable price for people who cannot afford the $90 Epic edition.
I hope you stand on that principle! You made the mistake, they held you to it. If you cannot afford to play this MMO, maybe SWTOR or Elden Ring would be more suiting.
“Shut up! We have your money! lol” - Blizzard
Buyer beware is a real thing.
Besides that I swear the standard people use for what is pay to win these days is laughable.
A race change is pay to win ? Lol
I am sorry to hear you made a mistake in your selections. The frustration is understandable. However, the idea that Blizzard is “getting” greedy off this specific transaction is flawed.
The costs and policies around char changes have not changed since they were introduced many years ago. These are not new changes. The cost of the services is supposed to deter people from doing it, and to count as a “luxury”. As in you can save time instead of leveling a new char. You are certainly welcome to think they are expensive, because they are! They are not new though.
Here is the refund policy
In-Game Items
We’ll refund most items that you buy with real money and receive in-game within 14 days of purchase, as long as you have not claimed, opened, or otherwise used the item.
Examples include:
- World of Warcraft Shop Items and Bundles (Pets, Mounts, and Cosmetics)
- World of Warcraft Character and Guild Services
- World of Warcraft Tokens
I mean I was denied an increase on my bnet balance limit because I don’t own a phone they want me to buy one and then I can get my increase. (I was thinking in legit buying the 12 month package but they lost that money from me after the answer I got)
I don’t want to get into too many details here but yeah the CS sometimes is something else.
How is it pay to win when you can get a character to max and into mythic+ in a day?
Maybe learn to pay attention. This thread is a waste of time you already know you messed up. That’s not blizzard greed. Also news that a company tries to make money.
Allyourbasebelongtous
Talks about low IQ as he rants about a videogame and being poor.
I agree it’s too expensive… but I also wonder why people race change when they can just make a new character and level it ridiculously fast, these days.
I get wanting to keep your stuff, but it’s not like it’s going anywhere on that Blood Elf.
In any case, you just contact CS and hope for the best, but realistically they can’t just give you a refund or a free change to Dark Iron - you could just be trying to game the system like this if they were to have this lax stance on it.
I suppose they could solve this by just baking a trial timer into the feature, but with how redundant the feature feels these days, idk.
They didn’t lose any money. You will pay more for your time this next year by not buying it. Your sure showing them
What principle?
YOU messed up, not Blizz, not sure what high horse you rode in on but when you make a mistake it’s YOU that has to be accountable.
Being mad at Blizzard is the thing to do I get that, and it sucks to mess up and not get help fixing it, but stamping your feet and threatening to unsub is not going to change much for you.
You act like Blizz haven’t always been greedy cash grabbing goblins.
Anyway, don’t quit trying to make a stand, you’re just cutting off your nose at that point.
Good luck!
