Blizzard you're doing fine. There's nothing wrong with loot

Players, by and large, play the content they are capable of. And I am not suggesting that people get gear for time spent on a boss but not killing it.

I am suggesting that, as an example, if a player has killed every boss in every mythic 0, done several keys, and cleared 10/10 raid… and has exactly ONE peice of gear in all of that time… One might feel incredibly slighted. And this happens to people more than just in one week. It was part of the reason why bonus rolls were implemented in the first place.

this is just blizzard artificially extending content by creating a soft obligation to keep running those things. Because they know that people will stay subbed longer to do the content for a chance at those things. From a business standpoint, it kind of makes sense (though at some point, the snake eats its own tail)… But from a player standpoint it is utterly ridiculous and stupid.

Bullcrap the only thing that has changed is the owners bleeding it dry atm.

Retail and Classic co-exist for a reason.

The loot distribution in shadowlands reminds me a lot of what they did in cataclysm. They locked loot behind dungeons and rep grinds. SL is pretty much the same in that they took the gear grind away from the casuals. It’ll hurt them in the end.

And if this ends up being the case going forward, then I would agree. My only point is this is WEEK ONE. Let’s let the dust settle.

This would be fine if the item were actually an upgrade more often than not.

My point is that this is week one and THEY are making this change all ready.

Not by choice tho. Cause people have had enough already and unsubbing. Why the hell they didn’t listen in the first place it wouldn’t need them to makes those changes. But It’s always been Blizzards way or the highway and people are taking the highway at moment. And watch them say say now “” See we are listening to you “” when infact its cost them money.

Classic exists as a reference for excellent mmo design. Its success is a testament to that and make no mistake it is not nostalgia that has kept people playing it for the past 16 years on unofficial servers. It was so successful J Allen Brack was forced to eat his words and announce an official rerelease himself. With time it will heavily influence retail. And it already is.

True so true lots prefer to Play Classic then the debacle SL is atm.

I was upset that I wasn’t getting loot while someone else in the group gets 3 epics. I agree that the loot distribution system is horrible. I felt bad for others in my group when it was my turn to walk away with 3 epics.

Blizzard can provide players with a much more diverse loot distribution system now than ever before. There’s the campaign set that can be upgraded, World Quests, the Maw, Professions, the Great Vault and Torghast.

It would be foolish for Blizzard to distribute the best items in the game through Raiding and Mythic Dungeons. Think of all the other systems there are.

And part of that great success is that Classic isnt clustered with FOUR tiers of raiding.

WoW started changing it’s loot system to be more like Diablo 3. More RNG, less good loot, but tons of it.

Now we get less loot, more consistently better for us, and it’s less RNG on top of that we have easier access to make our gear better.

In a game like Diablo and Path of Exile, which are nothing like WoW, it’s good to have gear candy.

In WoW progression gear still exists. It’s just a different system without Titanforging. When they got rid of Titanforging they had to reduce loot and tune gear for BIS and like I said with easier capabilities to put sockets and change secondary stats now.

More = less.

Less = more.

I actually would prefer 1 difficulty. And instead of making 10 man and 20 man MODES make 10 and 20 man raids that are just completely separate raids with different bosses. Make the raids themselves the difficulty rather than adjusting the difficulty in the interface.

You guys spamming Mythic Dungeons are doing it wrong. There’s plenty of loot to be had. Wanting to gear your character with top tier items in 1 week is not in Blizzard’s design model.

I love your idea except with bigger raid sizes lol.

I like the idea of being able to be fully geared(or close to it) from the current raid before the next raid starts.

edit: Maybe the great vault accomplished that.

AKA

“I am posting from an alternate account/character and am claiming I got extremely lucky on loot there for the loot system is fine to me. If I got zero loot for all my efforts it wouldn’t be, but since I did get loot sucks to be you. :)”

What kind of effort are you actually putting forth though? Are you running any raids? Mythic dungeons? M+ dungeons? Rated/non-rated BGs? Because based the character you are posting on you have precisely the amount of gear you should get based on the content that you are doing.

I know people don’t always post on their mains though, so maybe on your main you actually are running content for gear. On both of my characters at level 60 currently they are 182 and 178 respectively, and I haven’t even touched m+ this week yet.

I mean that’s exactly what the Great Vault loot is replacing. Use your brain.

There is some funny hypocritical disconnect here. :slight_smile:

I’m not on either side of this loot debate, my problem with the expansion is the Maw and Torghast and how progress in said things aren’t account bound, but sure is funny that people who aren’t complaining about loot are the ones who are getting lucky with it.
