I’ll still remember when they had the option of 25 man and 10 man in Cata. I didn’t want a tiny rooster so I was running a guild and made sure that we stuck with 25 man. Other guilds/groups wanted to “trim the fat” and went down to 10 man. Now the raids were not balanced totally correctly but the reality is that no matter the raid size it’s always the same. Skill concerns with other players are the same and recruitment is the same. 10, 20, 25, 40 have exactly the same concerns and always will. I’m sure some people would like to just have single player raids like Torghast in retail as they think they are the most skilled players in WoW.
I don’t think the main raid size should be changed from 25 man in TBC. My guild is already planning for it. So many guilds will implode though and part of that is due to some people feeling superior and I think that’s sad.
Sounds like a retailers opinion. Someone who’s brand new to the game. Do you work for Activi$ion?
You ok? You may wana get that cough checked out.
If 40 is too much why do you raid with 40 people in Classic?
It’s really not, getting 40 people together and 25 people has a different chemistry and atmosphere. Things are fun and a bit chaotic with the 40 man raids.
People who’d like to chill they’re welcome to go into their Garrisons on retail and play their Facebook game.
I mean I was thinking about this, Blizzard being Blizzard something is going to be off about BC, so why not, 40 man raids is a great idea.
Wait… so you want us to roll into Gruul’s Lair with 40 people, but change nothing else, and just explode him before he even gets a chance to do any real damage from Growth? You want people soaking Meteor Slash on Brutallus to never be in danger because you’re nearly doubling how many bodies are taking damage?
Like with many things in Classic, that’s how it was - and changed in TBC because Blizzard improved on it. There are plenty of things in Classic that are outright bad but are just how it was in vanilla.
It’s about as good an idea as hybrid tax.
Speaking of, either equip the shield or be a debuff bot.
This just in: apples and oranges are different. That’s just silly to say that all those raid sizes are just the same. There’s a HUGE difference between getting 40 competent players together at one time and getting 25 of them. To suggest otherwise is simply to deny reality and indulge in fantasy.
I ran a 25 man raiding guild and recruited for 3 years WotLK - Pandaria. I was really thinking it would be harder with 40 man raiding in Classic. Now, as an officer in a 40 raiding guild since Sept 2019, I can say with confidence that the “finding competent player” concern is the same. The raids do feel different with 40 vs 25, but if we are talking about recruiting, benching, finding quality people who stick around etc the concerns are the same.
You find competent players by having a good environment. It does not matter if we are talking about 25 people or 40 people.
blizzard put basically no effort into classic… what would make you think they’d put work in for TBC?
I’d feel lucky if they didnt just put out blanket 2.4.3 and actually tune content to earlier patches this time… but Id bet they once again put 0 effort into tbc
