Hey man, you pays your money and you takes your chances. Decisions have consequences. But its not unfair if everyone can do it.
It’s called sharding
Agreed one player ruining the experience for the rest of us is stupid… a monopoly on the market spamming what’s supposed to be a valuable resource
Probably because the game has been out for a week and Blizzard, as a global company, needs time to craft messaging, align on that messaging (globally), go through feedback rounds from multiple stakeholders (also globally), and then publish. This takes time and Blizzard is one of those companies that doesn’t take action until all stakeholders are agreed and signed off.
This, layering will be gone in P2 when people have quit the game, if you dont like layering you can quit now so when P2 hits they actually remove it, if people who dont like layering stick around and the games population remains huge, we wont lose layering by P2.
So start speaking with your wallet and clear up some queue times for other players.
OP you didnt get Vanilla, you got Classic.
Accept this is part of the deal with massive servers, otherwise enjoy your queues.
Blizzard knew full well all they would get in return minus the short revenue boost was a bunch of salt.
If you dont like it, unsub.
What you are being concerned about is not a big deal. It is an unfortunate negative to a necessary tool for realm stability.
There are mobs everywhere dying to influx of players coming in to a zone. The issues you were describing are only being useful to a very small handfull of people that are a ways ahead of the pack, and their clever use of the game mechanic is not hurting anyone, because there are not enough people there for them to affect.
It also sounds like you are jealous.
Reading some of the replies in this thread, which indicate people can’t see that there is something wrong with being able to farm something rare and a game mechanic that permits it is a flaw and exploiting that flaw is bannable - well, reading those replies kind of turns my stomach.
People have always tried to legitimatize exploits such as this with the same old argument “its the developers and designers fault not ours for exploiting”.
There will be a ban wave for this exploit.
Every time I mention this in a thread like this, I get crickets. It couldn’t be clearer. The intended purpose of layering was absolutely not how it’s being used in these cases. Obvious exploit.
They either need to toss out bans or execute sweeping rollbacks. We really have no use for these exploits, or the people who use them, in Classic. This type of behavior belongs in retail, not here.
I honestly don’t see anyone getting banned for it until they make an announcement clarifying whether it is or is not bannable. At that point, if bannable, continuing to use the exploit would result in a ban. The longer they take to do this, the more of an advantage these players get.
This is 100% accurate.
That’s because people confuse ‘exploit’ with ‘hack’ and assume a method is valid just because it’s in the game. An exploit is anything used beyond its intended purpose to create an advantage. To be honest, it’s more of an ethical issue (a question of integrity), and most people realize what they’ve doing is wrong. There’s no excuse.
I wish people would stop using the word ban when they really mean suspension.
Bans are permanent, suspensions are not.
That is not how Blizzard typically executes on such exploits. They have a history of not announcing what is and what is not an exploit until after the suspensions starts. Odd I know, but probably to avoid publicizing the exploit.
As long as everyone who did this gets permanently banned, then all is good.
Suspensions are not good enough.
Spoken like someone who abused something that is technically not an exploit but goes against the spirit of the game who wants to keep their cheap advantage.
Ez, they need to develop a solid answer and plan.
People shouted about this before it went live, it is not a surprise to anyone.
Blizz knew this was going to be an unfortunate side effect of layer, but it is a price they are willing to pay.
