Who exactly are you trying to make happy?
You won’t give the retail players what they want. All ten mans, heriocs, very hard raids, balanced pvp or lfr/lfd.
You won’t give the vanilla players what they want. Content as it was with maybe small buffs, easy raids with the boys, a new raid or two in vanilla style, intact vanilla gameplay with only minor changes to classes enough to make them all worth bringing even if it’s as a support.
So honestly who is this game for? Your disenfranchisement of your entire playbase is unbelievable. We’ve completely turned on each other, everyone is vitriolic (me heavily included).
Retail players want 10 mans
Vanilla players want 40 mans.
You made neither happy and then told us future old raids will still be 40?
I guess have fun scrambling ten man guilds only to then scramble again?
If you had just conceded to make all raids ten sure. If all raids before were 10 and then 40 at 60, also sure.
Sorry 40 man guilds, two more phases of splits!

In your attempt to capture a new market, you have overseen the greatest drop off in WoW player history and after today it seems like that’s just getting started.

I think sod was a lot more popular than they initially thought and are trying to hold onto the audience that was never going to stick around long term to begin with. I think they should have made decisions with the classic community in mind since they are the ones who would actually play the whole way through

So no one? My server has 5k players on my faction. 4800 of them are bots.
Why are there only retail players and only vanilla players in your mind? Why can’t people just enjoy a video game?

like if we start out leveling zones in classic, it is literally retail. You cant please classic and retail players on the same game.

When a game has existed for 20 years with two very distinct communities…this is beyond retail tourism. I need retail tourists to save me from you.

I dislike retail very much, haven’t played it for many years, and I prefer 10 man at this point. Having cleared every 40 man raid up to 4 Horsemen in Naxx 40 in 2005 and finishing Naxx 40 in 2020, I can easily say I and many others I played/play with, don’t prefer 40 man.
I understand the nostalgia, which is why I’m playing SoD and enjoy the new changes. But it’s not enough to make me want to do 40 man raiding a 3rd time. However, I think there should be 40 man raiding, and I think there should be 10 man raiding, and unlike Wrath, they should be equivalent, just obviously less gear rewarded in the smaller raid.
It’s unfortunate that Blizzard has limited resources and can’t figure out a way to implement flex raiding in this version of WoW, but maybe it’s just multiple modes then? 10 and 40? 10, 20, and 40? Not sure what the solution is, but if they choose 1 option, many people will be upset, and/or quit. I know our guild is done if 10 isn’t an option and from reading these forums, many others feel this way too.

This is pretty much par for the course; both sides will witch hunt one another until the end of time over every single issue that pops up in this game.
Apparently they haven’t learned over the last 5 years the simplest rule: Never craft your game to the likes of forum and reddit dwellers
