Blizzard, the authenticator migration (aka SMS is now REQUIRED) is an awful idea

They actually removed this restriction a long time ago

Not sure on that, VOIP stuff doesn’t seem to work.

VOIP isn’t a REAL phone number though to be fair.

It’s very modifiable and you can swap or have your number change constantly in the VOIP format.

Nope it doesn’t. You hadn’t mentioned VOIP in your post, so my reply didn’t include it  I was replying specifically to the pre-paid vs. post-paid comment you made.

VOIP is considered pre-paid for most of their plans.

My Corehound one finally died a couple weeks ago. Honestly was super bummed about it. I waited as long as I could to have to get the app. I hate it

If it helps any, you will very rarely need to use it. It’s been a year or so for me, and I don’t even recall why I had to.

LOLOLOLOLOL

You bet they sell player information.

They also told us that requiring an authenticator would eliminate group finder advertising. The never happened, not in the slightest. They lied. So why did they need to lie?

They don’t tho. That rumor started because of over watch 2. That combined with the fact that they have never had any issues from having phone numbers. Free mobile games you find in the App Store are more dangerous.

I have an obamaphone, doesn’t work. I have talked to customer service and they have been 100% crystal clear - you have to have a pre-paid contract plan.

Of course it will as long as its unlocked and you put a carriers sim in it you can get a cheap post paid from the big 3 for 20 to 25 bucks…and from Verizon you can test it for 30 days if you don’t like it you get your money back and then as long as you do the initial setup that’s all that needs the SMS you can just cancel the plan and get ones money back…take the sim out and just leave it on wifi

Your welcome

Uh… wut? Since when am I required to upgrade my computer like this? Am I also required to buy a new laptop every 3-5 years?

I have a phone and all of the authenticator stuff, I’m just curious when this became a rule.

I tried these things already when someone else suggested it, wasn’t just 20-25 bucks either it was closer to $75 and it still didn’t work.

I do appreciate your trying to help though, however im not sure if you’re trying to help to prove a point or if you genuinely care about this situation that I share with multiple other people.

Any other feedback? Thanks.

No it won’t. A lot of prepaid phones don’t work.

As long as it’s unlocked. And you can put a carrier sim in it, it should work it worked for my friend…

His had an old trak phone.

Now if it’s not unlocked then yeah, you’re going to have issues.

Then get a refurbished phone. That’s unlocked can get a cheap one anywhere depending on the sale between 30 to 50 dollars and put a carrier sim in it, it’s that simple.

Unless that carrier sim is for one of the larger phone companies and isn’t a prepaid plan, that’s the only guaranteed way to get it to work.

Many prepaid plans do not work.

Jesus H Christ

“Cheap” is subjective here, considering I’m on the lowest plan and I’m paying over $100 a month due to taxes and fees on said plan.

Thus, people try to go prepaid or cheap carrier route, like Cricket, or the AARP plans and they don’t work.

Sorry for the miscommunication.

Let’s spell it out for you.

People have told you numerous times that their phones have not worked for x and y reasons, including those who have free phones from the government. They have even contacted CS and were plainly told they are out of luck in their situations.

The continued gaslighting you’re trying is absurd. Just because you or your friend can afford postpaid plans doesn’t mean everyone else can.
