There are businesses that offer these services. Now, they may have changed policies or procedures since this came out, but it doesn’t have to be as difficult as swapping.

The Blizzard authenticator is not SMS
The blizzard app only requires SMS on the setup… After that it has nothing to do with Sms you can actually take your sim out of your phone if you wanted to and just hook it up to Wi-Fi.
You just wouldn’t get no text saying that someone’s trying to change email, ditching your authenticator, or changing one password

If someone has your phone to be able to swap out the SIM there are much bigger issues involved.
The links Alychaessra provided have to do with Trojan malware redirecting things. As always, download from reputable sites, don’t automatically give new software full acess and have anti-malware working. Likewise simply having a passcode to unlock the phone can prevent one’s phone from being useful if lost.
I haven’t had a landline since 2000. I had moved to the south for a job and saw what Southwestern Bell wanted to charge me monthly and went nopes… and haven’t had one since that move. I’m back home now, but have had a cell phone since then and just haven’t seen the need.

Most forms of MFA are corporation protection, not consumer protection.

glad ive got my physical one from when cata launched, still works fine.
What? My last PC I used it for 7 years, it didn’t break once in the 7 years, and I didn’t upgrade it once within the 7 years. If all you play is WoW, they last a long time…

I’ve never had an issue with fps. People just like to constantly upgrade things too often, imo.

A 2013 system if you haven’t changed it and if it’s still original Would have came with a GTX 780 TI or equivalent…you might be getting over 20 frames per second in val at setting one

Not sure what that has to do with my statement, however. It’s still one of the most secure forms of authentication, no matter what its purpose or function is. The premise of the OP is that it isn’t and that is a complete falsehood.
MFA is not particularly more secure than just not having it. Its effect on your personal data security is minimal at best, quite literally nothing at worst.
SMS in particular is strictly nothing. There is nothing secure about text message verification.
