Blizzard sucks at balancing content for different classes

Welcome to class-based RPGs, some classes just have it easier than others.

R Druid in Delves is funny. You’re basically a weaker, more basic Feral Druid and if you’re not Wildstalker it’s even worse.

Launching ourselves around with Demonology’s Demonic Leap into Metamorphosis was so satisfying…but #NoFun.

It’s always been like this and changed each xpac, then each season. It feels like it changes during seasons now, which is frustrating. I have one of each class (except DH) for this reason. Putting 8 of them through delves this season showed just how different they all are, even between specs.
I currently can only get somewhere for ?? this season on a Blood DK and Frost mage. Last season I completed it on a MM hunter and almost a frost mage.

The gear drops and vault also show how unlucky some characters are as well and it makes a huge difference early/mid for gearing, and even sometimes affecting end of season gear. Content is harder because of it and when playing a bleh class as well, it makes things not fun.

For visions I’m not doing much but it’s on a Ret Pally. I tried Hunter and mage and it was bad. Yet they both do very well in delves. I feel for single class players who have to deal with their class being great at one thing and a mess at another.

Next you’ll be telling us the Sun is hot and water is wet.

Of course Blizzard suck at balance. They always have. Their QA has been rubbish for multiple expansions. In the most recent times, we have the awesome Season 1 to look back on. Where they screwed up balance so bad they had to entirely change and HALVE the value of trading up crests just to entice people to not burn them at the stake.

The fact that some classes have had their damage increased by 15%!!! just shows how completely borked their initial numbers were.

LOL. I love the game but I’m not going to kid anybody about their skills at balance, QA, or ability to communicate stuff to players.

No way Devs can get it right for the players, never. Ion just basically talked about it last week.

Class Balancing

I too am surprised it’s challenging to balance 30 unique specs across 4 distinct types of content.

Since you have so many class do you have a list which class or spec is best to worse for delves. For me best to worse

  1. HDH great burst, 2x AoE stun, one ST stun one interrupt, great mobility, decent self healing
  2. Prot warrior good damage, great defence you literally don’t use HP, great mobility with leap and 2x charge very engage to play
  3. Prot pally easy to play in delves lots of stops, good self healing, damage is good
  4. Guardian Druid damage most as good as the other three but still decent, really good self heal with lunar bean on a short CD, several offense CD to use, can sneak pass mobs easily
  5. FDK damage is decent limb really useful to grab the whole area self healing is ok with good defensive but a bit slow
  6. WW monk is almost the same as FDK but it feels self healing isn’t as good?
  7. Brew of all the spec I try with delves brew is the worse. Damage is meh, self healing is meh, everything is just meh. It does the job but other spec I can can do better.

Most of the people who complain about balance don’t actually know what they’re talking about.

Agree, thats why when i read someone saying in the forums “omg they dont listen to us about balance”.

Im glad the developers actually dont listen, it would be way worst if they listen to the average WoW player.

First comment in that video lol, so true.

Priest feels good in Delves, R Druid feels horrible, R Sham horribly boring and mid, Evoker seems like it would be fun because of the way it projects damage, does high damage, it just has high numbers for what it’s doing, compared to R Sham who needs to cast Lava Burst and hit one single thing and hope everything is standing inside Acid Rain, it’s pathetic. I guess it has a Flameshock cleave now, but even then.
Holy Pally seems boring in Delve, same as R Sham except you get more fun toys to mess with like hammers and Holy Shock, I would take Holy Pal over R Sham in a Delve.

Mistweaver is obviously good in Delves. The tanks are obviously good. I agree with the person above, Brew is the most boring one, the damage projection on Brew is just weird and random af. You could end up proccing Flurry Strikes on a single thing with 15% HP left, then on the next big pack do low damage. It feels awkward.

Rogue is terrible. Too much planning, too much sapping, too much thinking really. Compare to DH or Prot, who runs in and pulls the entire room with their brain off and everything eventually falls over while you take no damage. Yeah…

Ranged I can’t comment on, but they seem like work, kinda like Rogue, but not as bad since they can kite. I found Hunter to be horrible honestly, I don’t like spamming the Heal Pet button and wondering where the pet is, but it has nice tools for Delves. The non BM specs are probably pretty chill.

R Druid is a snoozefest. Throw an occasional HoT on Brann and you’re in cat form the whole time. It’s probably easier than feral.

Rogue is fine if you know how to play rogue. The problem is people don’t know how to effectively use evasion and cloak to do big pulls, use Tricks on Brann so that he tanks and Vanish to reset the aggro table.

I know and its so blatantly obvious and I hope what happened to the ceo in ny happens to the devs, ngl.

lol git gud

Takes my Feral about 5-6mins to do Fungal Folly depending on how well Nemesis mobs are positioned on T-11. I bet if I skipped them here or their I could get it even lower. Your lucky if Brann is smart enough to make through the second set of mobs in that time if he’s a tank.

AS for Rogue its 50/50 whether Tricks works or not. I’ve done it to Brann and the mobs ignore em. I have ToT on to Brann only to vanish and watch things randomly reset. Or depending on which delve, watch Brann run off with everything chasing him into every other pack of mob.

This is my experiences for doing 11 delves. I don’t really chase class stats but I do try to have at least 10% vers. I know other people might be better players but this is me as a casual, former aotc/M+ player. Delves are my only gearing option this season so my experiences are with that gear and not raid/M+ gear.

Hunter.
MM Dark Ranger destroys groups of mobs. Very bursty. I use a pet to keep stuff off me but you do need to manage its taunt. Need to manage cooldowns for each pack. Using Heal Bran.
BM Pack Leader is consistent aoe/st damage and seems easiest. Takes longer for me to kill stuff but I don’t care about managing CD’s. Easy to play and understand. Using Heal Bran but possibly DPS Bran if you can manage your health.
Survival seems meh this season. A bit squishy so I’m not playing it.

Used MM hunter without pet for last season for ?? boss.

Paladin.
Ret Templar starts off slow and squishy but improves amazingly with gear. Bursty. I can easily destroy large packs with CDs. Slow without CDs so some management is needed. Lots of survival spells to help get through tough parts. Medium difficulty to learn well but easy if you don’t. Using Heal Bran.
Holy Lightsmith. A lot of fun for a heal option in delves when spec’d into lots of dps options. Seems to have a bit of a learning curve though. Lots of CD management to keep moving at a good pace. Not bad dps. Lots of survival and “oh crap” options for tough parts. Using DPS Bran.
Prot haven’t tried.

Death Knight.
Blood Death bringer is my favorite. Although it can take some big hits, it’s almost unkillable. I’m not sure I have died playing this spec yet. Does very nice dps. Just learn how it works and start pulling mobs. Using DPS Bran.
Frost Rider is a little squishy but tears through packs easily. Stagger heal pots from Bran and you will rarely get hit hard. Death strike is still your friend. I don’t know the spec well but still do great. Using Heal Bran.
Unholy I haven’t tried cause I’m bad at it.
Used Blood DK for ? boss this season and working on ?? boss.

Warrior.
Fury Mountain Thane is easy mode imo. As soon as I got champion geared I became unstoppable. Even with Veteran weapons I still do a lot of dmg. You do need to stagger Bran pots big time since you don’t have a lot of survival abilities. Very easy spec to learn and play well. Using Heal Bran.
Prot Colossus I’ve only just started trying it out. Lots of damage. Feels unkillable. Easymode. Very easy to learn as well. Possibly the easiest tank spec. Using DPS Bran.
Arms haven’t tried yet.

Priest.
Shadow Voidweaver. I’ve found this to be a bit rough to play and learn. It seems like a spec that needs careful attention on stats and gear. I felt too squishy to play past 8s. Big CD management. Using Heal Bran.
Disc Voidweaver. I adore this spec for heals. I put out a good amount of dps and heals. Took a little to learn but now I’m so bullet proof I get reckless in 11s. DPS Bran never needs healing and I can tank/use fade for most mobs. Not sure the issue but Bran does bad dps most of the time with this spec. I have to pay attention and drag mobs over his traps to help boost his dps. Most pulls he is only doing 100k. Bosses he does 2mil. Using DPS Bran.
Holy I haven’t tried.

Mage
Frost Frostfire. Huge amounts of cc and slows keeps mobs completely off me and allows me to burst them down fast. Lots of survivability options and burst. I do need to manage my slows/roots as mages are very squishy even with a barrier up. I recommend using frostblock instead of the heal for “oh crap” moments and pulling a lot of mobs close for frost nova. I spec’d for as many slows/roots as I could. Grab all of Brans heal pots when mobs get close to survive the big hits. Using Heal Bran.
Fire I tried but lacked cc. Need the gear to burst them down before they get to you.
Arcane I used last season as it was bursty. Not sure what it is like this season.

Used mage for my 2nd ?? boss kill last season. Too squishy so far for this seasons ?? boss.

Monk
Windwalker Shadow-pan. Loved playing this spec. Fast paced, solid, not easily killed, easy to understand. I spec’d for more survivability and a simple aoe spec since I was going though packs so fast. I recommend if you like melee. Using Heal Bran.
Haven’t tried other specs.

Rogue.
Assassination Deathstalker. I love this spec. A little tough to learn but goes well for delves. Simple once you learn it. Keeps you moving through packs at an ok pace. I spec for aoe so I can get my dots on multiple mobs at once then just focus down single mobs after that. I haven’t done it past 8s but they were easy. Using Heal Bran.
Outlaw. Either they or I was dead before I managed to get enough buttons pressed to achieve anything. It felt messy. Do not recommend.
Subtlety didn’t seem to work well at all for delves. It just seems to lack something and makes delves feel slow and more difficult than they are.

Evoker.
This was one of my former aotc raid characters but for some reason delves felt like a nightmare this season.
Devastation felt super squishy and lacking in quality survival and cc options. I didn’t get past 8s with champion gear as it became kill them before they kill me even with Bran heal pots. Neither hero talent option seemed to help. Using Heal Bran.
Augmentation Chronowarden. Easier but very slow. I raided as a Aug evoker so I know it very well. Took big hits well but the lack of quality cc and survival options still made me sad. Using Heal Bran.
Preservation Haven’t tried it as I gave up on Evoker in delves.
Hate their lack of range, squishiness, and crappy cc/survival so I can’t give a good opinion outside of that.

Lol git blocked.

Pearlight spits out nonsense and blocks everyone on the forum.

Wonders why they even post.

Pearl’s lack of skill might finally convince me to knock out Underpin.
