All you do is ruin what could otherwise be a fun event. Yet another year, since the burning crusade, I do this crap every day. Now on 15 alts. There will be 210 attempts this year alone and still no mount.
1% drop rate huh? The odds of getting a 1% drop on 210 attempts is:
1 - ( ( 1 - .01 ) ^ 210 ) = 0.87883118364
So an 87% chance with the odds heavily put in my favor. It’s not like I’m just running this on one character and hoping for the best. No, I stack the odds. Put in actual effort. And still get screwed. While some rando just gets to waltz in and be like LOL I GOT IT ON MY FIRST NITE LLLULZ WASNT EVNE TRYIN LLULZ!! What a great holiday! Enjoy having ZERO agency on the event for the one thing you still need from it! Great gameplay right?
RNG on holidays is a bad combo. You can’t just put it off till next week like you can with literally any other rare mount in the game. Which is where the whole “RNG is RNG” for the rest of the game is fine, because you always have next week to do it. There’s always a chance to keep farming it. At your own pace. At your own time. But not during holidays. Here you do it now, or you get screwed.
Best part of this is that even 210 attempts isn’t enough in one year apparently. So I coulda had 50 alts and still been out the same poor luck. If I bother to count my party members since I see them opening their boxes too. On average about 2.5 of them open the box. And not one of them got the mount. So that’s what, 735 opened boxes I got to see this year? Not a single mount? Really?
Stuff your RNG and keep it the hell out of holidays already. Put some bad luck protection in there somewhere. 100 runs account wide, if you don’t get it you get it no matter what on your 101th. Make it cost a reasonable amount of Tricky Treats or something. Every single year all you do is create an untold number of disappointment. Even if I do get it tomorrow there’s still going to be thousands more that get screwed. Why allow endless holiday misery when you can easily patch it out of the game?
Put your holiday RNG in the same place Bobby Kotick put your employee benefits, the trash. Or maybe I should have been more honest. Maybe you should put it in the trash along with the rest of the feedback you rarely listen to because that’s exactly where this topic will end up. Just yet another voice of reason ignored by the corporate giant.

Okay so for all these wannabe college professors that declare “It’s always a 1% drop no matter how many times you open it!!!111” yeah. Thanks captain obvious. But did you know? You still have a higher chance of getting a drop the more 1% boxes you open? Here’s a few examples to help you understand why…

The person who has one box to open? Or the person who has 10,000 boxes to open?"

Because you’re opening more than once. LEARN HOW PROBABILITY WORKS.
The fact the chance is always 1% doesn’t change the fact you get an increasingly higher chance, though never 100%, for opening it multiple times. The more times you open it, the more likely you will get a drop. This is irrefutable fact."
