Blizzard stop touching shaman's

I’ve also mained rshammy since serpentshrine caverns and karazhan in 07 I think it was… but the game’s changed so many times and every single class and spec have changed so many times. It will keep changing and never stop changing. Just like… idk everything in life

Knowing in advance that a particular change is objectively bad gives one the chance to avoid the change and not suffer the consequences of the bad change.

well which change is objectively bad and not subjectively bad?

This is my fault. If I switch to a class and main it, as soon as I am geared and comfy Blizzard feels an unknowable urge to nerf that class.

My apologies I will stay with rogue…they are hardened against such things.

They’ve done this pretty regularly with shamans since retail release. It’s not new. It just boils down to whether or not it ends up very underpowered afterwards and takes a patch or three to recover. Which, given its history, I’d say being underpowered for a good while is very likely. It’s been the whipping boy of the devs so many times I’ve lost count. It’s not even uncommon for it to catch strays from different specs within the class that leave the others weak.

I understand the goal is to remove any thinking, any skill expression, and anything challenging.

have you tried enh? ice strike is on the rotation despite not even using frost shock. The goal is to remove bloat. If you think mashing 20 buttons in sequence is big brained I got news for ya

I worry too, rsham has been improving over this expansion, and this season feels so nice. Hopefully we don’t just have this to enjoy but a revised version of these alpha decisions for the future. I don’t want to just use riptide, healing wave, healing stream totem as my only rotational heals in PvP… losing unleash life, healing surge, a major healing cd, a personal defensive, thunderstorm, and others… so sad.

Well they can’t touch interns anymore after that whole lawsuit thing, they gotta touch something!

It’s not just shamans…

They are taking away a TON from every single class in the game. Xaryu did a video on mages for instance, like 2/3 of their buttons are gone.

This is just the general direction they are taking class design, has nothing to do with shamans.

Stop drawing attention to the shaman’s sexy totems. do you want them to be carved into fruit shapes next?!

The only regrettable thing we’re losing is unleash life. If you played earlier expacs, unleash life was a part of a thing, where it did some stuff, depending on element. now it’s just press button summon ancestor to duplicate your spells.

When I first switched from totemic to farseer in this season… it felt great. It felt like chains were being lifted and broken. But I was oblivious to other chains… What feels good to play isn’t necessarily good. So you wanna be a slave to a 15 sec CD? A cd that does nothing other than duplicate your button presses? so you wanna be slave to… well i guess that’s about it

farseer resto shaman is like taking happy pills being sad, then taking more happy pills. the rollercoaster momentum ends eventuallly

I have never once brought up enh.

I am talking about resto and how it’s being massacred.

No. We have a long priority list in guides, but that’s because of numerous conditions that move things around our priority list, not 18 distinct keybinds.

Even AoE Totemic Enhancement, the spec with the most dps keybinds, maxes out to 12:

Stormstrike
Lava Lash
Crash Lightning
Flame Shock
Lightning Bolt
Chain Lightning
Elemental Blast
Sundering
Primordial Wave
Surging Totem
Doom Winds
Feral Spirit

Of those, Stormstrike, Lava Lash, and Crash Lightning are the moment-to-moment buttons. Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and Elemental Blast are all spenders that generally have some breathing room between casts. Flame Shock is cast on-pull and then ignored because Lava Lash automatically maintains it after that. Sundering, Primordial Wave, and Surging Totem are all ~30 second cooldowns, Doom Winds is 1 minute, and Feral Spirits are 1.5 minutes with cooldown reduction that can vary a lot, but usually comes out around ~30 seconds with good melee uptime.

The only major pain point in the rotation is that we’re a bit overloaded around that 30 second mark, especially when also lining up with Doom Winds, as it creates an 8 second window that we want to pack as many AoE main hand strikes (Sundering [with RNG resets], Primordial Wave’s second activation, Crash Lightning, and Hot Hands!Lava Lash) into as possible, while also needing to maintain the 7 second Legacy of the Frost Witch buff and try to have Feral Spirits up simultaneously, too.

(All to still do only half the damage of the rest of our party, but that’s just a return to form after a brief period of being allowed to sit at the Real DPS Table off and on since DF launched.)

The changes they’re making to Enhancement on Alpha aren’t even removing that many DPS keybinds. They’re only outright eliminating Elemental Blast and Feral Spirit, and making Feral Spirit so weak in the process that we’re not even going to bother talenting into what has been our signature cooldown since Wrath of the freaking Lich King, great job there, guys. It’s mostly the interactions they’re stripping down to take all the thought process out of the rotation.

What they’re mostly gutting from us in terms of keybinds are out utility buttons, which is one of the top things those of us who have stuck with Enhancement through all its years of topping out at mid damage love the spec for.

Thank you!

Shamanes hate when you touch them.

They hate it even more when you don’t touch them and remind them of it as you waggle your index finger in their face.

Elemental Blast isn’t a proc, I forgot about VB, and neither SS nor LB have procs you react to unless you mean getting charges back on the ability you spam constantly SS.

You use Frost Shock in the rotation in ST.
