Blizzard starting to use roadmaps for their games

If they just sing the praises all the time they don’t realize when they mess up. Calling out bad things sometimes gets the devs to change what they are doing and fix things. And sometimes it just makes them double down on bad decisions and we end up with junk, like lou2 and saints row.

key is to do just enough backlash and praise. Find a balance. But I think many people have become jaded over the years and now they just expect bad things. Remember the learnable dances that was touted back in Wrath? I have not forgotten that.

People find humor in an unpleasant situation. I’m more concerned about people like you who think the existence of people who won’t agree with you that wow has always been perfect in every way, the company has always been perfect in every way, means your opinion is right™ and everyone else hates everything about wow. And they’re only doing it to annoy you - because they know how triggered you get just thinking about people who won’t join your hivemind.

Have I ever said World of Warcraft is a perfect and flawless game? Not even once. Nice assumption though I am not blind that World of Warcraft have issues especially in shadowlands lack of content and the amount of systems like conduit and soulbinds and the renown system.

Im a longtime tsm user and never heard of that. Not saying you are lying… Im just thinking that is not how tsm was intended to work.

Its easy to provide a roadmap for a Classic release, I’d expect a road map like OW 2 for Retail WoW…

The vid I’m referencing was posted this week (if it wasn’t today) … so maybe it’s new?

And CERTAINLY that’s not, or shouldn’t be, how TSM is intended to work since that is literally the definition of violating the ToS when it comes to the “one button, one action” clause. What I saw today was FULLY AUTOMATED.

That should be an IMMEDIATE … LIFETIME ban.

And ffs … what’s it going to take to stop TSM??? I have been outspoken about how the AH needs to change, not TSM. The AH needs to evolve to simply make TSM irrelevant. But that was before I saw it violate the ToS. Now, I want to to see TSM completely removed.

New Expansion! DRAGONFLIGHT!

Content Roadmap:

S1: 4 new dungeons and a Raid!
S2: 4 new dungeons, KSM gets a reskin, and another raid!
S3: Same dungeons, KSM gets a reskin, and ANOTHER RAID!
S4: Ultra-grindy zone to waste your time, KSM gets a reskin, and did we mention your ultra-grind while you wait for 12.0?

Ok you wanted it … there you go, there’s your roadmap. Provided by 17 years and 8+ expacs of precedence. Where shall I submit my invoice?

its what roadmaps represent in the industry AS A WHOLE. major AAA publishers use them often when a game is struggling and they want to instill confidence in their userbase that “NO WE AREN’T CUTTING DOWN STAFF TO A MERE SKELETON CREW AND SLOWLY SUNSETTING THE GAME AND MOVING ON TO GREENER PASTURES. SEE LOOK WE HAVE A ROADMAP!” now whenever a company brings out a roadmap it’s often seen as a bad sign.

And yet people always say things like “Copy what FF14 is doing” in terms of communication and roadmaps and transparency and more proactive in terms of feedback and stuff like that

They tried that once. I rejected their reality and substituted my own.

You forgot the dates or months for each season, also they could do something like:

S1: 4 new dungeons and a Raid! Intro questlines and community events
S2: 4 new dungeons, KSM gets a reskin, and another raid! Heritage armor for X, Y races
S3: Same dungeons, KSM gets a reskin, and ANOTHER RAID! Heritage armor for Z,W races and new bosses for a mage tower like event.
S4: Ultra-grindy zone to waste your time, KSM gets a reskin, revamp holiday events…x,y new questlines…etc

There’s space for more things that just the usual and they could show commitment towards some request from the community and new ideas.

I am not a smart person, but that sounds like what we have now. Game would be better with a faster changing meta

Now we only got the usual season KSM, GLAD, new raid and maybe a new dungeon but the unexpected is how the new zones will work, what else bring the patch…because Blizzard doesn’t establish goals, there’s things that must be hidden until implementation but for example if they annouce that 10.2 will have heritage armor for Undead and Night Elf, well that put them on a deadline due to their own announcement, right now we’ve people asking about heritage armor because we don’t have a clue at what point they’re going to introduce new ones.

none of this matters if the core of the game doesnt change which is the classes. I can point to 1 thing that would put this game back on track. Right now it is a meta driven action game

No, I specifically didn’t include them, because the Overwatch roadmap doesn’t have dates either.

It’s very vague. So much so, that it’s pointless.

That was the point of my post. IT WAS A JOKE. Because it’s giving information that doesn’t tell you anything you didn’t already know. +facepalm+

They don’t do many favors for us.

If they did Slime Cat would be in LFR.

Hello, I see you replied to the thread. Final Fantasy 14 doesn’t use roadmaps! The difference is that their patch cadence and release schedule is extremely well done to the point everyone generally knows what is coming in each patch at any given time!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

So they are getting with the times? Too bad the road map also doesn’t include listening to casuals and their feedback about anything, ever.
