Blizzard said they would "prefer that healers spend their time healing" during an interview with Morgan Day

Whenever I get the urge to play I just jump on the forums so I can remember why I quit. Thanks community!

I am talking about low level content. An whether i like it or not, it is still what we currently have in the game.

Dont worry i wouldnt roll with you either. There isnt any reason to go hard in braindead easy content. If all you want to do is just get it over with as fast as possible, guess what? You dont actually like the content, and the best thing you can do is not do it.

And i shouldnt have to say this but, generally when people solo stuff, its you know, solo.

As an aside, if im actually doing challenging content im going to try, even if its just challenging for me.

So ? You want AoE caps removed, but you want to get carried through content.

Of course you would. You probably already bought a key from me at some point.

If itā€™s easy, thereā€™s no reason not to go hard. Plus you get out of it faster.

Why is this such a hot topic, anyways? Healers in low-mid keys donā€™t need to do damage, but itā€™s nice if they do, and the dps/tanks sure as heck donā€™t notice. :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

I honestly have so idea. I thought the topic was interesting, but not new thread every two weeks for 3 months interesting.

because the sweaty tryhards think you need to go super hard in every bit of content no matter how trivial and that they need to force others to do the same.

Hear me out. AoE caps removed so that they can be carried.
It makes sense when you put it together.

Do they, or is this just fabricated sentiment parroted back and forth? Not a single person remarked on my damage output when I climbed score on two healers. :dracthyr_tea:

Browsing GD had me thinking Iā€™d get flamed every dungeon for not dispelling, damaging, ccing, etc, enough, and that justā€¦neverā€¦happened. From +2s to +25s

Iā€™d say you have it right there. This is more or less a fabricated topic meant to serve as an easy argument so that people have something to post about and the forums arenā€™t quiet. Because why have decent conversation when we can argue the same thing weā€™ve argued for years with no end in sight?

Whether or not healers spend their time healing falls firmly at the feet of game balance. Healing is a zero sum activity; you need precisely enough, anything beyond that is utterly wasted.

It remains a fact that empty space where healing isnā€™t required should be filled with dos, and failing to do so makes you lazy at best.

When I play my healer, Iā€™ll dps if I feel like it. My job is to keep the party alive. Period.

It always ā€œmattersā€. There is never a point where you not doing your job doesnā€™t negatively impact the group youā€™re in.

Do people care enough to say or do anything about it in low level content where the only cost is time? No. Does that mean that cost doesnā€™t exist? No.

Setting aside the fact that my expectations for my teammates vary depending on the level of content Iā€™m inā€¦ I actually find it difficult to ā€œturn offā€ my good habits when Iā€™m running low level content. They are ā€œhabitsā€ after all. I donā€™t deliberately start doing a sloppier version of my rotation when Iā€™m in a low level dungeon and I donā€™t suddenly stop using Predatory Swiftness Regrowths. I justā€¦ do what I always do. Which is to play a pretty mean Feral if I do say so myself.

I donā€™t really agonize all that much about what level the content is and how many hands that means I should tie behind my back. Youā€™ll get my best no matter what content you bring me into.

It really doesnt happen that often ingame, but it does happen more often when people come to the forums see this stuff and start parroting it ingame.

People on these forums would have you believe that the healer not dpsing in a heroic or mythic 0 or something is wasting huge amounts of their time. Im slowly becoming convinced many people on this forum dont actually enjoy wow, they just want an asian grinding simulator type game. Like ricky bobby they just gotta go fast and get that content done so they can stop wasting their time.

That doesnt make any sense, esp since you didnt read my thread, which about pacing and balance. Tanks getting a free pass in most content all the way through shadowlands doesnt make for great or engaging content. But if your interested my argument was essential that they should return to the design philosophy of previous xpacs that didnt need an aoe cap cause tanks simply werent able to pull so many mobs.

I think that people dislike seeing others not try/care. Itā€™s not fun to play with people that only do the absolute bear minimum.

Dude, itā€™s a relatively new thing, since Legion actually, to have challenging dungeon content.

Tanks were able to pull massive as far back as MoP, even in the most challenging of dungeon content.

Case in point :

All the trash into the bosses, AoE it all down.

Iā€™m not going to apologize if people come to threads like this and come away with the idea that doing damage during downtime is better than doing nothingā€¦ because it is. Thatā€™s simply better play and I donā€™t see how a more knowledgeable player base is bad for the game. Like all such knowledge, every individual player can decide for themselves whether or not to apply it based on the content they run.

What? Did you think that every gray-parsing Andy in their Heroic dungeons thought that they were the best player ever and didnā€™t think there were ways for them to improve? Of course not. Being aware of what those ways to improve are is not toxic and players practicing those skills in a relatively safe environment (like low level content) isnā€™t a problem. The only players who are going to make an effort to incorporate these tactics into their play after reading a thread like this are improvement-minded players. I am just as happy to feed them such information as they are to eat it up.

Yeah, vengeance was wild in mop. Everybody was just emotional support for the brewmaster.

Thats the world record, using monk when it was broken af. They actually changed tanks and removed abilities because that was possible.

That was really cool to watch. Thank you for posting that!
