Hardcore is not for those who want a safety net or want a system that would restore a player. In fact HC is not for those who want a fair game. I suspect Hardcore isn’t the game mode you want, and is a mode that few people really enjoy. Fortuantely Blizzard did add in the option for you to transfer off the HC server at anytime you wish, to a normal server where you don’t have to be impacted by deaths you deem unfair.
There is a reason Blizzard has a waiver on character creation saying there will be no restoration for any reason. People need to read this carefully, because thats what it means. It doesn’t mean that if you feel your death was unfair that you should be restored, or if there are a bunch of FOTLM streamers who die they should get restored, even if they died to no fault of their own, it means that there is no chance ever of any restoration for any reason.
If you missed the disclaimer, here is the key text you should make yourself aware of before playing HC.
By agreeing to play on these realms, you accept that your character’s death is permanent for whatever reason. This includes disconnections, lag, server outages, gameplay bugs, or any other reason.
There are no exceptions and people need to think long and hard about if HC is really what they want, as hardcore is not about making the game hard, hardcore is about making all deaths final, and the idea of this is often much easier then the reality.

Only Fangs has more viewers that don’t play wow than do, HC is a very niche community, acting like it’s not in crazy.

Millions of people have lost Diablo II characters due to disconnects over the years. Not a one has been reinstated. But yes, let’s make the first exception in over 20 years to a bunch of streamers. Who, it should be said, absolutely ruined the original interation of Classic with their speed-running and min-max playstyle which everyone emulated, sucking all the life and joy out of the world.

People love chaos. The next stream (if there is one) would probably have even more viewers watching to see if there is a ddos attack.

you’re probably right - and for that matter I’d guess that HC moments / fails have more views than OnlyFangs
theres nothing to really argue. i meant more of a sincere statement. not the simple format they use to display schedules maintence on the app in a small yellow font.
Who are they? Never heard of them, but i play wow regardless, and many do too! We play this other mode called retail? Surely you have heard of it, many big streamers are in retail. So why are you playing smol game mode, when moar streamers cover retail especially at the beginning of new seasons?
See how that works? People are in their own bubbles, and not all these bubbles overlap. 150k people when millions play is almost like chump change tbh. It is unfortunate what happened, and i also agree there needs to be more robust protections in place to prevent sabatoge (especially considering that miscrosoft owns blizzard now)

To be fair, the excessive emphasis on uber slow leveling progess is kinda… annoying, its akin to artifical game extension, making things take longer soley to keep your players engaged with content by implementing massive exp grinds or time gates.
People are over that, especially repeating the same thing for 20 years XD
I’d encourage you to spend some time offline, and not watching someone else playing a video game
Anyway, as always death = delete. I hope Blizzard sticks to their guns on this

Clearly they’re not over it if they’re still doing it 20 years later.
No-one is going to be playing TWW pservers in 2 years much less 20. No-one is clamoring for DF, SL, or BFA servers either. You have to go back to legion to find a retail version that has any potential lasting power, and before that you basically have to go back to WOTLK. Like it or not the classic era is the only one with long-term interest or sticking power.

Its a really darned if you do darned if you don’t situation. I feel for people that lost characters because person or persons are little wastes of space and get a kick out of making people suffer.
I have no skin in the game. I’ve always hated the concept of hardcore on a game where there are so many variables you have zero control over. It seems a waste of time, which all of us has finite amounts of. So, personally, I hope this leads to the death of hardcore beyond the addons and self imposed restrictions. At least that way you can do something if the server comes under attack.
That would indeed be a sad ending.
Better alternative if HC is to be closed down would be to instate the two Watchers giving out the Soul of Iron buff on all servers. Then those wanting to play the HC way could visit one of those two - this would also not exclude additional personal challenges, or even the Addon.
I don’ understand this take…yeah lets just ignore a massive chunk of the fans of WoW just because they aren’t your cup of tea. You realize that to keep the lights on at blizzard, you need those hundreds of thousands of other people interested in your game to keep it afloat? You wont have anymore WoW if youre the only one left playing it. People playing this game should be supporting any mistreated players to avoid the drop in popularity…we all know the gaming industry is ruthless, and a lot of games get defunded when they arent popular anymore.
Where are these idiots? Examples? Names?
Just a massive troll
The population of doom howl was roughly 5:1 in favor of horde.
DP was heavily alliance favored
There’s no denying streamers had a massive impact on the population disparity
When hardcore was popular people were complaining on how dead m+ and the pug retail scene was
But doesn’t mean both game modes don’t have their place in the sun
Majority of hardcore players also dabble in retail too.
I also want to point out that the player that took the Ed Boon’s school of spelling is one hundred percent a troll. Don’t feed the trolls. Don’t acknowledge the trolls. Yes, I know I am acknowledging them by giving this warning, but the warning needs to be given.
