None taken, but my question would be, ‘why?’
Because if it’s just another ‘because it’s not how it’s done’ argument, I’m disappointed. They re-balance every major overhaul like this and I feel like this system would allow dodge tanks to be dodge tanks, melee DPS to CHOOSE their mitigation vs stats priorities, clothies to have the first toes into freedom EVER, and benefits for staying in the lane of ‘designed gear’. I hate that once upon a time Blizzard’s response to clothies complaining that all the healers and casters in other gear sets were stealing EVERYTHING and they got geared last (it was a valid complaint to be sure, raid leaders always gave gear to healers, but nobody else used the plate, mail, or leather when it dropped AFTER the healers were geared so they were the last and the squishiest, often removed from raids for falling behind… sad but true) was to enforce it with a devastating reduction to damage across the board and telling us we’d ‘get a bonus if we comply’ with their new gear enforcement. It’s the same marketing move grocery stores use during inflation by saying something is on sale for $.50 more than last week because they raised the price by +$3.
Then you play a different game than I do my friend, I hear complaints all the time for greater personal customization and the desire to remove themselves from the Icy-Veins bot speccing that chains us to all playing a copy/paste clone of each other because THAT’S ALL THAT’S VIABLE! Sure, we can choose chocolate or vanilla, but we are all eating ice cream and I want a steak!
