Blizzard potentially losing some of their casual playerbase in SL

As a Heroic raider, gear appearance is more important than ilvl. Hence why I hope tier sets come back as just cosmetic pieces you can work to obtain that might not require raiding~ :stuck_out_tongue:

It would be wonderful if they actually let half of the player base move to realms where big guilds exist. Not the backwater servers with 200 people left.

I think you’ll find that the percentage of “casual” players who truly care about matching MYTHIC RAIDING with lucky drops from easier content is entirely negligible.

That isn’t to say there aren’t people who liked Titanforging. Obviously those people exist. I just think it’s more of a general feeling as opposed to “GOTTA BE BIS”.

The game was at its absolute most successful looong before Warforging/Titanforging was introduced.

You’re talking out of your backside.

So you are one of those casuals that wanted mythic lvl gear despite not needing it OP, got it, thankfully wf/tf is gone.

This is my highest geared character at 447 ilevel. I haven’t stepped foot in Mythic+ nor have I raided this expansion. I find that I can gear up to a decent level doing caches and in-game activities. I don’t hunt for corrupted gear and I didn’t stress about titan forging.

I am a casual that has leveled 27 alts this expansion although most are severely lacking essences. I get that I am sub optimal and I’m ok with that. I’ve always been middle of the road when it came to skill in game, whether it be pvp or pve.

I think those that push content and practice hours on end to either learn rotations or study dungeon layouts or raid content should be rewarded with better gear for better effort. I’m not willing to put in the time or effort to be elite so i’m not bothered when someone has better gear or does higher dps or just plain wrecks me in a battleground.

My ilevel is high enough to kill what I need to. That should be the feeling of pretty much any real casual. You aren’t going to lose anyone in Shadowlands who wasn’t going to quit anyways. In my honest opinion.

Casual player for last several expansions. Could not give a ****** about this gear change. I haven’t needed mythic grade gear and won’t in SL.

OP mispelled casuals when he actually meant entitled kids who liked the freebies given away by wf/tf for no effort.

You can pug mythic raid lvl generally you dont get past 4/5 bosses but you can do it. Not sure were you got the idea you can’t from

More connected realms, less sharding.

I’m as casual as they come these days and found titanforging and warforging to be too much RNG. Corruptforging I haven’t liked because I’m not a fan of kiss/curse. We’ll likely get the gear we need to have to do non-group content, and LFG/LFR. And as long as I’m able to clear things I want to do, I’m fine with that.

i’m as casual as they come. you should NOT get raid level gear for doing WQ. you should not get raid level gear for afking. if i want raid gear i can join a guild to get. i also think lfr gear should be beyond anything WQ offers as a reward to get people to do that content. i haven’t had to do lfr at all all expansion because i’ve gotten heroic level and normal raid level gear for doing nothing.

edit: casuals still want to earn their gear. we’re not all the type to expect handouts that we didn’t earn.

Let them lose those players. Earning the best gear from the hardest content shouldn’t be a taboo topic. Just because you work 8 hours at a company doesn’t mean you deserve to earn as much as the CEO. I’m glad WF/TF is being removed. Good riddance.

And as one casual to another, I have seen nothing in anything that has been released that casuals will have access to adequate gear to run casual content - which by the way, I also have seen no reference to.

PvP vendors will be usable only by players who have earned currency doing rated pvp, which right now is next to nobody.

When did wanting gear adequate to do their content suddenly become a crime against azeroth and a demand for mythic raid gear for doing nothing?

I have never seen any casual asking for mythic raid gear, but you guys keep parroting that we are. Why do you feel the need to make up stuff like that?

Just because the best gear in the game has always been available to you doesn’t mean you are entitled to take away my gear, which is what it looks like is happening in shadowlands.

Are you willing to pay much more for the game after most of the playerbase leaves over this and other highly problematic issues with the upcoming expansion?

Will raiding finally feel epic after your friends have left the game?

I’ll actually have to play more of the game to achieve rewards in the game?

Hey, sounds good to me. Sign me up.

Yes it should, this whole game is mainly casuals, it will never be geared to the people who live on this game… they tried that with bfa and look at the results.

If you haven’t been playing the game, that’s entirely a choice you were able to make. The fact that you didn’t bother to level up is a sign that actually you had little interest in playing at all.
