Blizzard potentially losing some of their casual playerbase in SL

I hope mythic+ still drops gear equal to mythic raids. M+ is how I spend my time on this game and yes I derive a higher reward for the higher the key I do. Not everyone can get into a mythic raiding guild and it’s not because of what most people think. It’s not my skill level it’s not my job, it’s the fact guilds have a core group and screw you if your not part of that core group. If you somehow do get lucky enough to join in on a guilds raid they get to bring their alts while you have to bring your main every time. It’s guild hierarchy that’s the enemy of the casual. Or like one person said casual needs a better definition because I want to make my character as strong as possible with the best gear as possible. That’s my reason for playing and no it’s not fair that I can’t get to that goal because of stupid guild hierarchy. If the hierarchy isint the issues it’s also either the issue of not having the time like most people. I’m probably gonna get a lot of angry replies to this but honestly I don’t care my sub my money I should be able to have a say on what I want content I get regardless of who you people believe deserve better gear. Your fun ends where mine begins your rights end where mine begin. That’s the way the world works not just mmos

Why do you? If you can kill mythic bosses with heroic loot, why should mythic bosses drop anything new other than a “go you, you win!” button you can stick on your lapel and brag about? You want the sense of reward and achievement from progress. You want to be able to do content easier by working at it. So do I.

I still enjoy getting better and getting through content more quickly. It’s fun. I recognize my progression will be less/slower than people that want to commit a lot more to the game than I do.

But suggesting that because I don’t raid any more, I don’t get to progress is just another way of saying, “Go play another game, if you don’t raid, you shouldn’t be here.”

I’ve taken breaks before and given Blizzard no money. If I hit a wall in Shadowlands, I’ll do it again.

I’m enjoying working my way through higher masks in Horrific Visions. I imagine if I actually did other forms of content that boosted my ilvl faster it would be a lot easier. But, I’m still having fun climbing that hill at my own pace.

Because I’m not killing Mythic bosses for Heroic loot. I’m killing Mythic bosses for Mythic loot. I recognize that the best gear comes from the hardest content therefore I do the hardest content.

If your interest in playing the game is just doing things like World Content then there’s no reason for you to be as geared as players who are putting in time in more challenging content.

And once again the stupid strawman comes out, “there’s no reason for you to be as geared as players putting in more time in more challenging content.”

At no point in time, has anyone ever suggested this. You just seem to collectively lose your minds if anybody ever gets a good piece of gear from anything other than your preferred form of content. Everybody knows where the highest ilvl gear comes from. It isn’t some secret.

This whole continued rant from raiders comes because you just can’t enjoy your content unless you’re also denying opportunity to other players.

Blizzard is going to do what they do. I will pay them or I won’t depending upon if they give me paths to advance that don’t require raiding.

Great! There’s M+ and also PvP. Seems like they have 3 avenues right now for gearing. And it’s pretty self centered to instantly assume that it’s about denying others any opportunity to play with me or other people. I’m not going around the city inspecting players left and right. I’m not looking at your toon when I hit the character selection screen. I’m only seeing the characters I’ve created.

I don’t care what you get. I just don’t want my gear progression to be based on multiple layers of chance.

That’s what the other 3 difficulties are for.

Casual players don’t need mythic raids.

No, just 1 right? Once per week?

So you spend the first week or two gearing up in M+ to whatever the max ilvl is that drops from M+. Next week you raid Tuesday and Wednesday and don’t get anything… what do you do now? What is your reason to log back in?

There’s nothing you can do until next week when you cross your fingers for your 1 chance to get loot off of the boss you need.

At least with WF/TF you could farm a piece of gear with similar stats to hold you over until that ‘bis’ piece dropped…

Sure WF/TF needs to be toned down, I completely agree, but having 1 avenue to the top gear in the game is stupid and puts even more weight on RNG than before.

As it should be.If you are not raiding then you don’t need raid level gear. I have no problem enjoying this game and I don’t set foot in raids other than LFR for story purposes.

Are we just going to pretend like M+ isn’t a thing???

Hopefully they don’t listen to the vocal minority that cries every time they have to work for something.

Strife is a good thing and achieving a goal feels better if you have to work for it.

Did you not read the first half of my post? JFC…

OK let me spell it out for you a little slower so maybe you understand.

Weeks 1 and 2 I spend spamming M+15 or whatever the max level is for m+ required for the highest ilvl gear. Let’s say that’s 465 - like it is now.

Now my character is 465 equipped… with me so far…?

OK next week we raid, I get no drops… still with me…?

OK, Wednesday comes around… raid’s over… there is now nothing I can do to obtain higher gear other than wait for next week and cross my fingers that RNG gives me the piece I want.

I can’t participate in any content that will make my character stronger, nothing.

Yes. I did read it and you might as well not have mentioned M+ at all.

M+ is more than just a difficulty, you can still spam M+ as much as you want throughout the week. Run 15 and you’ll get some pretty decent stuff.
Also you ccan still drop residuum, of which you can turn in for what you want specifically, you get to choose which piece you want.

I always see the reason for LFR being to see the content. They don’t want to raid normal+ or have the time.

Now, why would they need gear beyond LFR or LFR with WF/TF if they aren’t trying to progress pass that?

You’re either trolling me or just blatantly missing my point.

You’re missing out a lot of info since you don’t even know M+ goes to 485.

What do I do now? I keep doing M+ with friends or I get into arenas and try grinding some rating to get the exclusives. My WoW experience isn’t just tied to raiding and only getting my weekly chest done. During Legion we had days where we did multiple M+ runs because we found it enjoyable.

As for the 1 avenue there are plenty of ways that Blizz can combat that. You could shut down the tier bonuses if they bring those into SL during M+ runs so it’s all about the stats and trinkets that you bring and reintroduce the WoD scaling system to PvP gear. And if they don’t bring back tier then the only thing they’d need to change is the PvP gear.

Because it gives players the ability to obtain an upgrade. Farming LFR over and over every week is not going to get you to full max level mythic raid ilvl. It’s extremely inefficient. But what WF/TF did do was keep tons of content relevant because once mythic raid was over for the week if you wanted to keep playing you could do things with a chance to make your character stronger.

WF/TF gear was never required to complete any content, mythic raids could all be done at base ilvl. What it did was give a reason to keep logging in and gave players who played more the ability to keep progressing their character.

Makes no sense, these are the same people that demand socialism because someone else has something they want but they don’t want to work for it.

It’s literally pure laziness that has crippled this game and ran so many people off because blizzard went for low hanging fruit because they could get a lot more lazy people to pay a sub rather than make a game that’s fun and engaging.

NO ONE LIKES WORLD QUESTS! Only super lazy people looking for a cathartic mindless grind to do while they’re drugged out of their minds.

Normal people that don’t abuse substances have NO desire to do any of that garbage.

Or like when you farmed mythic raids, drop nothing but joe shmock in LFR titanforges the trinket you been farming in the last 4 weeks and titanforges to the max which is the same power as your mythic one.

Sounds like a communist’s dream.
