I came here thinking they were over breeding and we had a feral void walker problem.
Might have wanted to adopt a pup or two.

Meanwhile my Wrathguards just getting absolutely pummeled lol.
Least Brann heals good in Delves
Hunter pets don’t fare too much better. On the one hand, they can hold aggro. On the other, even a tenacity pet will get its behind kicked into the ground in by a stiff breeze.
The reason is people who refused to turn off autocast on their voidwalker taunt.
All pets should be fixed.
Thats just basic pet care in todays age to help control unwanted pet populations.
Voidwalkers have sucked for years now.
Whenever warlocks do decent damage, Voidwalker cannot keep threat.
Whatever abilities the VW uses for threat, the AoE pulse or whatever, they are just incomparable to Hunter’s pet taunts.
My hunter only takes aggro when the pet is dead lol.
I forget when VWs got their threat nerfed, but I remember seeing this exact complaint from time to time- Voidwalker was decent a long time ago lol.
I wanna say the last time I used a VW a lot was like Cata or MoP.
You basically have to be Pack Leader hero talent spec, and spamming Mend Pet off cooldown. There’s bonuses for healing.
It really helps for pet survivability, but yeah they still die in T8 delves or higher, fairly often.
I started playing lock because of the void walker. I’ve been able to adjust to the threat issues, even beating Zek ?, but the issue should not exist to have to work around.
It does, the problem is, the threat it generates isn’t enough for you to do even moderate dps without pulling the target off the VW.
For a long time the void walker was overpowered. Then they nerfed the heck out of them going into shadowlands and now they are pretty much useless and have essentially turned my destro lock into a Mage.
The blueberry holds onto things as affliction, though it should hold onto stuff better for destro.
There was a thread about hunter pets with this exact same issue, that went on for 3 months before it stopped being replied to. Maybe it’s blizz wanting pet classes to have some modicum of challenge, but pet threat of warlocks and hunters has been total butt, and the issue seems to be magnified at max level.
I don’t know if it’s something like pets not inheriting appropriate armor or the threat values being undertuned, but I have to pull very specifically and as Marsage has said, be PL and spam Mend Pet if my pet tanks 2 or more things.
Someone in the other thread I mentioned said they think Stomp was not generating threat for the pet, so maybe Consuming Shadows has the same problem?
Feels like they stealth nerfed it in 10.0.5 tbh. I had no issues with the void walker holding threat before the anniversary patch came out.
I think they didn’t like how easy he made delves.
All the non-demonology pets feel misplaced and underwhelming. You literally just take them based on what utility spell they give and nothing else nowadays. Which is beyond aggravating.
If someone is using voidwalker in a group setting with a tank? They’re just bad. There’s no reason to use the voidwalker if you have an actual tank. Also, voidwalker doesn’t have a taunt. Just threatening presence.
Well the the reason I asked about the little lights on the torment spell , was I have been coming OUT of dungeon with growl still disabled and had to restart it manually, I figured it might apply to warlock pets too. I think it is a bug , but I am not so darn lazy to check and turn it back on myself, so I never complained.
I just run Demo when doing solo stuff. I get that isn’t the solution everyone wants to hear and yes VW definitely needs a rework, but until when/if Blizz decides to fix VW going Demo is a workable solution.
Felguard ftw!
