Blizzard, Please Fix the Herb Farming – Bots Are Killing the Game for Casual Players!

They already said they will be reducing herb and ore spawns on the mega server to help combat the botting.

Apparently, most are real players, i often interact with them.
As you mentioned, is really a problem of supply and demand in megaservers.

Servers with probably more than 20k active players, during a phase, where the raid is very high consumables demanding, divided in 3/4 worldwide layers, where many are farming in the same 4/5 zones.

Personal nodes, or individual map sub layering, are the only options that i can imagine for this megaserver mess.

People are already starting to lose interest in raiding and in end game content and this scarcity only aggravates the situation. Many are RMT’ing their way into consumables, others like me, are farming like crazies all week, in order to make their way into Naxx.

It’s tiresome and not fun at all, sometimes players spend 30m or more just to get one node, something that didn’t happen in past phases.

During anniversary, in previous phases, i always farmed almost all consumables necessary to raid, without having to roam 10+ hours every week in EPL/WPL/Winterspring, just to get the basics to raid.

Raids in TBC aren’t a lot more difficult, especially because they don’t require constantly managing 40 players, guild or pug wise.

TBC is also a 2/3 phase thing, after that, like in 2007 and in 2021, the numbers will drop like a rock.

If you add to that the current RMT’ing freak show, plus boosts, plus a possible gdkp unban, almost everyone and their parrots, will lose interest for an xpac, where pve end game gear, will be at one swift of being parked at the raid entrance, while waiting to bid, like often happened in 2021.

Even arenas in TBC, the only thing that could possible retain more players into the later phases, will be corrupted by swifted boosts and by a system that didn’t work at all back in 2021.

A system that, besides being annoying with the team dependency/queues, created elitism to an extent that even very good players dropped it, leaving the last seasons for half a dozen of sweaties, to play alone.

Pretty much this. Gonna play cuz I didn’t last time around - but not expecting it to be great.

Yeah, I keep being tempted to start raiding on an alt (at least beyond ZG/AQ20/MC) and the time/cost sink of consumes is the main reason I don’t.

Even as someone who plays more than average, it’s a pain just to break even farming for a single toon, esp. as a few of the things I had been selling have fallen off (Gromsblood, eels, orbs) and the things I need haven’t to nearly the same extent.

People who are telling you they’re just farming everything no problem are lying blatantly to you

For someone who enjoys herbing as a relaxing thing to do in my free time, it worries me for the future of any classic reruns.

You should be worried, because this is how Blizzard wants it. This is the inevitability of Megaservers and layers.

Yeah Blizzard is fully aware of the situation but they don’t care because it people keep playing the game and paying them money.

You’re not wrong. Everyone with a sub is an enabler of this atrocious and incompetent service of Blizzard’s.
