Now that is a perfectly reasonable response to not liking Bel’s method of making vids.
It was his interview, why is he not allowed to do this?
Ah yes, bet you are the kind that believes all politicians are also the same because analyzing and checking the actions of each is too hard so let’s call everyone the same even though there are major diffirences
Virgin Bellular has always been a spineless views oriented person, I find those traits to be pretty pathetic and repulsive, compared to Chad Taliesin who isnt afraid to lose views by saying what is right.
Some people are better than others even if they do the same job.
There’s a reason everyone is throwing cheap shots at bellular because of how obsessed he is with views and metrics.
Actually, it is a good way to format an interview, separating the individual sections out so you can get the answers and analysis on each section as it comes out. That is great if you are, say, only interested in lore, or mythic+, or raiding, or PvP, etc. If you don’t really care about conduits because you’re just going to set them and forget them, maybe switch between different soulbinds when you need to go from spec to spec rather than resetting your conduits all the time, then you can skip to the video where he does a deep dive into the lore of the expansion, for instance.
Just because it isn’t the format you’d like does not mean it isn’t a good format.
I think Bellular has a sincere interest in WoW.
More than that though, I see an individual who is equally if not more concerned with making money and is willing to be a little misleading to accomplish that goal.
He’s our Matpat.
Do you carry around a bag full of essences?
You need to talk more about juices, in case anyone missed the multiple times you included the term in your post.
Me, I like orange and mint juice. But that’s just a personal take on the issue.
Considering that’s how he pays his bills, I see nothing wrong with it. So, it’s not everyone. I actually enjoy his vids when I decide to watch them.
And some of us like to pretend that we have the attention span of a brain damaged goldfish. We like our content info to be in smaller chunks, especially with the way Bellular likes to go into detail.
I wonder what he would do with the Soulborne games. Well, I would if VaatiVidya hadn’t already cornered that market.
I think it’s a bad format because I am wanting to watch an interview with Ion so I can see what Ion said, and the context he said it in. Every other WoW dev interview I’ve watched has been conversational; the devs answered questions, one after another, and their answers often built off of previous ones.
I’m not watching an interview to see what a Youtuber or streamer thought of the answers. If they have their own follow up question, that’s great. It’s a back and forth with the developer. I just don’t want to watch 90 seconds of an interview and 10 minutes of discussion about that 90 second segment.
You’re welcome to have your own opinion of Bellular’s recent videos like the Conduit one (which I watched). I don’t like it.
Oh I am sure there are more unethical and underhanded ways to pay one’s bills.
But I usually have high enough standards to see his behavior to be below standard.
I honestly can’t stand Bellular. But the good news is that he’s not the only WoW Youtuber out there. We have selection
Plus, it’s not just him. He has a team he employs too. Halved revenue from ads off youtube is hurting his business.
But he doesn’t seem like he’ll sponsor those videos. No harm on the ads.
All good from me.
That’s because Belular is actually running a business, with employees and such. I like Taliesin but it’s just him and Evitel and their son and they have Evie’s regular job (which I’ve always gotten the impression was something very well paid) to fall back on.
Nope. Granted, I’ve yet to see anyone achieve power without either getting their hands dirty, or having someone in the wings getting their hands dirty on their behalf, but there are clearly differences in policy, behavior, and general sanity between different politicians.
I’m speaking as someone who makes his living creating content. I’m an author. I could write all day long, make it the book of my dreams, but if people don’t buy it, then I don’t get paid, and I have a powerful need to eat. So writing books that people are willing to throw their hard earned cash at me for is how I keep from having to go back to working retail and do work I actually enjoy. Yes, I love writing, but it is work, and anyone who tells you different is either an idiot, or lying. My job is putting words on the computer screen, and getting paid for it.
So I get a bit touchy about people who whine about creators who not only write the script, but go out and interview people, and then do the editing and post production to make things look good, all because the creator is making money off it. That’s just as stupid as expecting a corporation to be your friend, or to care about you as an individual, rather than as a revenue stream.
I start to see why so many people in NA forums valiantly defend capitalism no matter how unethical some behaviors might be, money above all I guess.
Like someone else said, some of us have integrity instead of tolerating trash behavior.
It’s clear you’re well into your 70s or 80s.
News is no longer a public service. It has been heavily monetized for at least fifty years.
And that’s fair. But don’t say it is a bad format just because it is not the one you like.
And, to be fair, anyone who isn’t looking for deep dive analysis shouldn’t be watching Bellular’s videos to begin with. They’d be better off watching Asmongold give an interview.
I’m saying it’s a bad format because I think it’s a bad format and I have explained why.
the horror. they should ban him in real life and delete all his characters.
Eh, news has been about money as much as information since before the Spanish-American War. “You supply the pictures and I’ll furnish the war.”
