And maybe that is the real problem. They already know this type of decision is not popular with the playerbase but they think that the story justifies this reasoning but tell me who remembers what was said to Sylvanas to make the burning happen?
I would have to go back and watch the cut scene again. That is what is gonna happen here and it is a mistake. No one will remember the why they will just remember that a it was done.
Ok? That’s nice and all but doesn’t change what I said in the slightest lol.
Sorry, the dart landed on Dalaran on the dart board. No changing it.
Dalaran will still be there in wotlk and legion?
It just wont exist in present timeline. You can still go to Teldrassil too you just need to toggle the timeline with the bronze drake npc.
They sure can. A good chunk left after War of Thorns.
Feedback is feedback. Belittling the OP isn’t necessary.
Think of the net positive in the end and use your mage portal to Dalaran and send the non-believers into the crater as morter to rebuild the foundation of a bigger and stronger Dalaran.
I am mad at all Shadow Priests for parading her around Dalaran while she was in her dagger form. That’s probably how she learned about its weak points and told the nerubians how to exploit them. Imma put her back in that dagger and throw it down an ogre outhouse!
Destroying a “neutral” city at least avoids the whole “Horde vs. Alliance” rage, which is wise.
Still, the last time they destroyed cities, the result was not only not worth the loss, but the start of the single worst pair of chapters in WarCraft’s history. BfA was a mishandled mistake, and Shadowlands was the worst thing Blizzard has ever published.
This reeks of not learning lessons. I’d much rather have a world with Dalaran in it than… whatever the hell they hope to accomplish with this.
I was not looking forward to this expansion already. The fact that once again characters and plot lines I’ve been invested in for years are being thrown away for more shock value, more unneeded hype? This is giving off sharp, stabbing Shadowlands vibes.
Really? Because it honestly feels like they could send in the Alliance/Horde airships and get them all blown up, and the same thing would be accomplished. There’s nothing about Dalaran that is so specific and necessary to the expansion plot.
Oh I am definitely crater portaling people now, all bets are off if people are okay with nuking my city! No more Mr. Nice Mage, this is gonna be my super villain origin story!
See. Progress! Now… just need presentation and you’ll be set!
I feel like you know literally nothing about the story so far lol.
Disclaimer: Alpha, not set in stone, yadda yadda yadda…
Having read through WoWhead’s synopsis of the quests? So far, Dalaran could be replaced with any sacrificial force and it would serve the same purpose. Heck, the Vindicaar could be brought down on the island and it’d amount to the same thing. There’s nothing so specific in the questing yet about Dalaran that makes it seem like ONLY Dalaran could suffice for this.
“Well actually dalaran submitted themselves to the Alliance in mists of pandaria after we killed and kicked blood elves out of the kirin tor!! just because it’s back to a netural city since Legion it still counts as an alliance city!! Horde bias!!!”
They don’t make major story changes during alpha lol.
Never said they did. Just said there’s nothing in the quests right now that makes Dalaran so vital to be sacrificed to the plot, that you could replace it with any force and achieve the same effect: people on the island, Thrall and Jaina need to go back for reinforcements, Alleria and Anduin track down Xal’atath.
Apparently there is considering it does lol.
I was indifferent towards TWW but now I’m honestly kind of annoyed with it.
insert blizzard gta " ah — here we go again" gif here but with dalaran in the foreground
Except there isn’t. Blizz themselves have outright admitted it’s all shock value and cheap emotional investment. Like I said, you could throw a Vindicaar full of Horde and Alliance up there, with Khadgar on board, and still achieve the same effect.
