Blizzard PLEASE do something about premades

Queueing as raid was a long time ago; that was taken out in Vanilla. Picking the battleground you can still do; I do it regularly.

Make voice common and I’ll quit playing, as will a significant fraction of the player base. Even just listening to voice is distracting and immersion breaking.

Obviously they can’t ban voice, but one of the things Blizzard could do to alleviate the premade problem is to bring back or introduce features that make voice less necessary. They could bring back the huge WSG flags that trailed their paths, for example, and they could make the map dot colors reflect spec or at least role in addition to class.

They re-implemented battlenet voice chat. I don’t think they’re in the business of making that less necessary after implementing it.

I also disagree. Premades should be matched against other premades and solo q’s vs other solo q’s. Or blizz should add a separate solo only Q for people that want to avoid getting stomped by premades.

It’s possible to give players options without making those options mandatory, you know.

And frankly, people rarely use that option, so it’s not as if it’s popular. When people want to use voice, they use third party voice.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t use voice either. And I 100% would love it if Blizzard gave us more tools for PvP, voiced or not. I wonder what happened to all the WOD improvements they promised.

That idea in bold is absolutely amazing, I’m going to look at the map API this week to see how hard that would be to do. I never realized how much I wanted a feature like that for AB until you mentioned it. I’d love it if we got a “useful features” thread to highlight great ideas like this.

Nah, don’t want to play HotS, I want to play WoW with features they have implemented into other Blizzard PvP games that make the game better.

How will a pass/fail test teach players what the unlabeled objectives are on the map and what they need to do to get control and keep it?

I think there should be a way that premades should be matched against other premades.

LOL the old "one or two friends " excuse. wouldnt 1 be a solo?

Just because you have no friends in game doesn’t mean others don’t.

Sorry but claiming someone playing WoW as Blizzard intended is the problem is ridiculous.

In vanilla, you could form full premades. People formed sub-communities and cycled people in an out of the group as people logged in and out.

1 in 4 matches were against other full premades. The other 3 out of 4 matches were crushing PUGs.

Nobody ever complained back then.

That actually might be a big draw for classic. Server communities and the necessity of that community.

I remember that and I’m looking forward to it. Only aspect of Classic I’m not looking forward to is grinding for your epic mount. I could do what my guild master did and AFK in AV until you got one for 9g.

I understand. It’s frustrating

But Blizzard already addressed this. Both sides are supplied the same aids to execute a BG—chat, time, maps. There is literally nothing stopping either side from organizing and coordinating efforts. Imo, self-induced losses from lack thereof, should not be grounds to change the game. All solo players need to do is coord with other solo players at the start I feel.

I’ve had success with this, since I always solo queue. I start conversation right away and can usually build some consensus before start—especially in SSM. Idk why. Not always though. But talking goes a long way. Of course there’s always some buffoons that want to try and be funny, but by and large people desire wins.

You could also just play until you got Lieutenant Commander.

I remember getting a random whisper on my priest to join an all priest bg back in Vanilla, we got WSG, we only casted hots and dots, hilarity ensued.

That’s what I said. My guild master AFK’d in AV until he got it for that price. He flat-out admitted he did but back then, nobody really reported anyone (at least not on my server).

I really really really would like the old premade option back in the game, consistent losing in pugs is killing me on the inside.
I understand the issues, so here is a fix.
Simply make the battle ground quing system work like this:

  1. If you have a certain amount of honor, people could be qued into a battleground with others of the similar amount of honor. This way people should know what they are doing in the battleground. This would allow much better games for more knowledgeable players.
So they wouldn’t be premades, just people playing with similar amounts of honor.
Just an idea, as an alternative option to the old premade groups. Although I still preferred to old premades, they were so much fun running with others that were like minded in pvp.

Maybe stick to MOBAs and stay away from MMORPG’s. Making friends and being a part of a community should always be what this genre is about.

There’s actually a really good idea up in these comments. Showing which players are grouped together on the score board. Some of the benefits I can think of are you eliminate all speculation as to why a game is lost. No more how do you know the other team has pre made. No more how do you know your team doesn’t have a premade. No more assumptions your team lost becaise the other team had a pre made without any evidence. It shouldn’t be hard to do on blizz part. I believe this would be great for solo queue players and team players alike. Let’s make this happen.

It does way more than notify you whether or not there is a premade actually. It can give you a reason to /afk instantly, before the game even starts. It can serve as your excuse for a plethora of different failures in your losses. It can almost ensure toxic chat from the get-go if your team’s premade is worse than the enemy team’s premade. Being such a multi-purpose stat, Blizzard should definitely add it to the game, right?!

Seeing confirmation whether or not there is a premade will only settle an argument on a BG forum and cause more toxic behaviors and AFKs. Think a little further out than just winning an argument and you can see it’s a bad idea.
