Blizzard was very clear SoD was not going to be classic+, it was very clearly stated that it was a seasonal server they would be testing sandbox changes in.
Some worked and some didn’t and it kept a reasonable population up until they announced there was nothing new coming.
I don’t know how anyone got the idea it was classic+ although some of what they tested would likely make it into a classic+ if they do do it.
