I have been crap damage. yes. I was also the 2nd flag and last flag of the match for the tie breaker win.

Yeah, I agree that Ashran is fantastic. People who hate it generally hate it because they don’t know most of its secrets. More maps with permanent powerups would be excellent.
I would love more complicated BG maps, like the objective is still CTF, but the map is something like all of Suramar City.
There’s a place for objective vs kill count matches, but I think there’s a lack of diversity in the former. CTF has been a staple of objective PvP across several formats, and it’s just kind of tired. At least to me.
I see this all the time, still, when I get a lucky break with a pro alliance semi-premade and its leader. can’t name names, even if its not name shaming. It be name praising lol
they don’t run this the same way 1000 others do. and…it wins. In new and cool ways. We aren’t going for ROC like muppets as always? This…will be interesting. you lead and I will follow.

It’s probably the most fun map when you get a premade vs premade. =)
Why my fave brawl is the never ending ashran.
I have seen stuff there that had me go THIS! is the way it should be. so many old strats (new to me) to take in and enjoy.
I can and have stayed there for more than an hour a session.
I almost want to cry when it ends and its back to plain old epic bg ashran.

Epic battlegrounds feel the most fun for me personally, and so I tend to steer towards them. I’d like to see some new epic battlegrounds implemented, especially with the removal of lots of world PvP content. I want big, bloody fights.
The only real BG’s are WSG, AB, and EOTS and zero reason to add more.
For funs sake keep AV, WG, IOC, and bring back SotA.
Maybe make Halaa a BG like they did WG.
Literally everything else is hot garbage repackaged value brand versions of the good ones.

The Battle for Gilneas. Good times in that BG. Actually, I’ve had good times in all the bgs, well…except for Kotmogu - Kotmogu has a respawn staggering effect which leaves it feeling 1 sided (for your team or the enemy team).

I would argue that the old AV BG was the best they ever made for a pure PvP experience. The problem with that map was the simple fact a single match could go on for days before one side finally was able to pull out a win.
I want a payload type BG. Idk how that’d work, but I’d love to see it attempted.
The original AV, but players are randomly assigned to play as the bosses and spawn as their character after being defeated, would make it better.
I would like that. Queue up for a Random Battleground, enter, and get the WSG load screen and wonder which theme of WSG you will get (Same map will all the exact same boundaries for each possible theme.)
I’m sure it’s because they can’t make one interesting and balanced at the same time.
I’ve been advocating for this for years. How difficult would it be to repurpose any zone in the game in a roughly symmetrical CTF-style map. Embarrassing is right.
I generally agree that Blizzard does not need to keep recreating the wheel in terms of new game modes, but OP is right that the sheer absence of map selection is not good, as mature as this game is.
All you really need is capture the flag (wsg), king of the hill (AB) and then a combination of both (eots).
Any other game modes are just gonna be some weird derivative of those any way.
