Blizzard is dropping the ball with allied races

Srsly this.

Once the lore goes past the release by a few patches they are considered our allies? Why should a player character have to do the rep grind? They are part of your faction at that point. Move it to legacy achievement and let everyone play what they want.

All the current system does is disappoint new players and punish returning players. Much like pathfinder.

wow you really just epic pwned me didnt you boot licker

i don’t even know what vulpera are.

mechagnomes would be awesome. when they’re introduced i hope they make regular gnomes puntable.

i think it’s about time we reformed the gnolls as well. instead of killing hogger in the stockade we should give him an education, teach him to read and learn a trade, and let him lead a great rennaissance among his people to bring them from tents and huts into actual civility. i’d play a gnoll.

murlocs. WRRBBGLRGL! YES PLEASE!

I want to make a Tortollan Prot Warrior. Nuff Said there.

Banshee needs to be a class like Death Knight, only a squishy ranged caster instead of a tanky plate-meister. it fits BfA lore too, the litch king was the big bad of wrath and we got death knights, let Sylvanas go full on megalomaniac and raise some sister raise some servants like arthas did.

Awesome.

You have no valid response besides an ad hominem.

No, I simply know when someone thinks they are owed something when they are not. If you are that disgusted with Blizzard’s performance, then vote with your dollar and leave.

I’m sure the game and the forum will be a much better place without smug jerks like yourself.

void elves, despite all the crap they get, have been incredibly popular.

most of the horde races also have a decent population, and so do DIDs.

You and I are reading very different forums it seems, or do all the mega threads for different allied races not count?

ARs are not failures. Having them as a new reward to unlock was fine. They’ve said more will come.

what we SHOULD be complaining about is the lack of heritage armor for worgens and goblins NOT coming next patch.

Pretty much, but I am not going to hate on additional races. I just want these developers to do justice on their game on every aspect including customization like barbershop having more hairstyles and different faces.

Look…

Allied races have more or less been a failure so far.

I disagree, i liked a lot the new allied races. The only thing i can tell that’s bad about the allied races is same thing that’s bad for all the races : there is a few options of hair and hair colors…

This expansion was sold with allied races being a major feature and selling point but so far there have only been 4 sets of races, 2 of which came before the expansion released and the other 2 were already known to be coming before the expansion even released as well and both came out fairly early on.

I agree here.
The last allied race should be the vulperas but blizzard showed the blue goblins…a lot of players are afraid that this blue goblins will be the new allied race for horde…and that’s really bad.

Also, they said the allied races should be options from the races that we have today, not in a separeted banner or menu in game…i don’t know how they will put the nightborne in the blood elf menu but ok…

Like you said, vulpera are the most desired allied race but how the vulpera will enter on goblins menu in the character creation ?

Well…i really don’t want the ā€œblue goblinsā€ to become the allied race instead the vulperas…

I’ve burnt myself out trying to actively play too many characters in this expansion, but even that’s not a complaint about allied races, just an explanation of why I’m not more hyped about the ones I haven’t yet leveled.

lucking out? If there is a single AR that counts as a failure, it’s the Kul Tirans.

It’s funny when someone who not only has allied races unlocked, but also heritage armors for some, says that allied races are a failure.

gonna say yeah…

I have most AR’s, many just because. Never really pursued these with determination besides the elves.

With the new changes to neckpiece (been away a few months lol, new to me) I will even see with some gear tweaks if I can live my dream of running that dungeon solo for dark iron dwarf. Its just ninjya past as best I can around trash and kill one boss iirc. Yet the KT will still rot for me lol.

All that work for an unappealing model not prudent for me. they could have gone big body in better ways here imo. model or texture wise really.

Gaddamn. Give you a perk and you turn into a greedy entitled little twerp, don’t you.

However, one cannot deny the work effort put into them. You might not like them. But they are a new model and rig entirely. That is lucky for the Alliance because they are the only faction to get that much effort put into an AR.

To judge whether they were a success or failure I guess someone would have to set targets that either were or were not met.

I know a lot of people enjoy playing their allied races. But I also know that a lot of people started and gave up at some point. Some of those people were so burned out they abandoned those characters or quit the game entirely after the horrible start to level scaling that accompanied the introduction of allied races.

Most of those people will never come back.

Some like me come back. But…I am waiting for next expac preorder’s ā€œfreeā€ 120 boost. I have a nightborne low 100’s. She will be the last full 20-120 run lol. made it this far, I will just push that bit. the void elf priest I have did full run. I learned new definitions of the word pain there…

Some lucky AR is getting boosted after preorder if still around lol.

Given the BFA lore nature of several AR’s, or legions the bone of at least a 100 start should have been thrown here.

Rabble rabble everyone would run them…I know. Many raid comps at the higher levels are still favoring ā€œcoreā€ races. When I last left this game for a few months the rants were of was almost all druid comps smashing a new raid/dungeon addition.

It wouldn’t have been power leveling void elves from 100 doing this. they can’t be druids. Nor can most of the new AR’s.

ARs were never meant to be anything more than easy work on Blizzard’s side, while massive money-grab and time-sink on the player side.

Copypaste from old races, use ā€œoldā€ content instead of unique starting zones, require grind to exalted, require a grind to max lvl on a new character to get the dumb armor, require service payment in order to use it on a character that already exists unless you want to start over.

Either way, they’re sucking money from you.

And that might be considered a success since Blizzard only cares about the money.
