No one forgot about Undercity, but the circumstances are different. The undead destroyed their homeland by choice in an attempt at a decapitation strike on the Alliance leadership so they could get away with their genocide and proceed to the next planned one, Stormwind. Just because they failed doesn’t mean they “lost” it.
TLDR most players don’t care. I stopped paying attention to the bad fanfiction story after Wrath.
Y’all really need to disconnect yourselves from the story if you’re getting this worked up over an event that isn’t real and didn’t actually happen in real life.
I already do. Like the entire story so far.
Don’t feel bad night elves are not the only hate race.
Blizzard also hates.
1.) Gnomes still has not regained Gnomeragen. People -Wrongly- use gnomes as a punting ball.
2.) Worgens Still has not gotten justice for attack on Gilneas. The gate and wall still is not repaired.
3.) Draenei is also very hated there is a road paved with draenei skulls. Shattrath city still looks like a salvaged ruins.
Though Night Elves is number one since they lost more then all races put together. I’m surprise they have not got to therapy for losing there prize possession of Teldrassil.
For the love of all that is Holy give Night Elves a new city.
It’s a video game move on. Night Elves are not real just stop with the overdramatics of this. Don’t forget that Night Elves was pro genocide of another race… so karma.
lolroleplayers.
Incase you didn’t clue in on this yet… Blizzard hates its player base for the little bit of accoubtability they hold them to…
As a form of vengeance Blizzard trolls their customers for Lolz to feel better about their choices in game design being regularly decimated by players…
I’m with the pirate worgen on this. People need to grow up and lighten up.
Most people who write for games, and a lot of designers, take pleasure in trolling fans, some are just subtle about it.
And I’ll mock you for actually caring about the lore. It’s win-win.
The thing about game lore is that, generally, it’s about what will sell. There is a lack of integrity so far as real continuity goes. If letting the bonfire of the Nelfs slide looks like it will sell game-time, that’s what happens.
It’s going to be this all over when Sylvanas kills Tyrande.
I for one can’t wait to watch. [spiderverse memes]
No they just want to make Night Elves to be more in awe of the Human Potential.
Can’t have a race on the Alliance being more stronger and independant than Humans
What happened at Teldrassil was in no way okay. Justice has not truly been achieved for them and needs to be. I would not, and do not, expect to see the Nelves forgiving Sylvanas anytime soon. I do wonder how long it will take them to call Tyrande to account for abandoning them in their moment of greatest need.
That said there are an awful lot of Nelves running about for a group that has been genocided though.
Genocide: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/genocide
Though Teldrassil was the primary home of the Night Elves they had enclaves all over the place. The race is far from wiped out and with careful stewardship, a thing they are known for, will resurge in time. I wonder though if the loss of so many that were exposed to the Night Well will not leave the race wholly transformed.
Really funny seeing a blood elf (the descendent and continuer of the subsection of night elf culture that caused all the problems.) say this.
What curse would that be? Her Night Warrior aspect certainly isn’t a curse - it’s literally an avatar of Elune’s wrath.
I don’t see how this is a relevant point.
Every genocide has survivors, and it doesn’t have to be a small number for a genocide to be considered a genocide.
Let us not forget that Teldrassil was, wait for it…surrounded by water - Night Elves CHOSE to let it burn and kill off their people so that they could have more loot for themselves.
So who is really at fault here.
It actually is a curse.
Becoming the Night Warrior imparts great power, but at a cost, it drives the wielder of the power to greater acts of aggression and madness until they are completely consumed by it and it kills them.
It’s also a power that can’t, at least as far as we know, be removed, meaning once you become the Night Warrior, you can’t go back to being what you were before.
That fits the fantasy description of most curses. Some are just wholly negative, others give something, but have a much harsher side effect that cannot be removed easily or at all.
The devs play mostly horde, and Danuser is the head of story and development. Sylvannas is his waifu from what we have seen. There gonna try to ignore things and distract players while ignoring the issues. They can’t outright say they don’t care because then they’ll be known by all. Instead with how they currently are developing the events. Is a way of bypassing admitting that they are able to have deniability when questioned about it.
With the cinematic of anduin, sylvannas and the runeblade. It’s hinting at blizz is gonna try to do a 180 and make Sylvannas out to be a good guy. Sorta like Gromm at the end of warlords. “Draenor is Free” which didn’t make sense since he was one of the main villians that caused alot of problems. As for Tyrande there already gonna screw her story up more. But watch there gonna try to trick players. Just wait for datamines to happen.
That’s interesting because other than Thiernax of Fizandi - who was granted enough power with the aspect to defeat an Old God and save his planet - there isn’t a single named individual, Elf or otherwise, who has survived the ritual until Tyrande. There is some source that implies the aspect was granted and used when the Night Elves first carved out their empire…but nothing beyond that.
Yes, Thiernax and Kadarin died in the end as a result of taking that power (Kadarin when attempting to save him by sharing it) but: Thiernax took all that power unto himself. Tyrande did not. The Army of the Black Moon was a sharing of that power.
I can find no canonical sources for your claim that it …
…so please feel free to share it.
