Blizzard is about to glorify the genocide of the Night Elves and it's really disgusting

People seem so sure about what will happen. I doubt Sylvanas is going to get off scot free.

Who said that quote?

Full quote is as follows.

Tyrande closed her eyes. “I said the tree would not be… ” Her voice broke. She opened her eyes and looked at the child she held in her arms, covered with soot, but whole. Healthy. Alive. Tears slipped slowly down her cheeks. “What is her name?” she asked softly.

Mia shook her head weakly. “I don’t know.”

“Then, little one, I shall name you Finel. ‘The last.’ For you are the last kaldorei to escape with your life.”

The World Tree was more than a city. It was an entire land, home to countless innocents. How many night elves were elsewhere in Azeroth? Far too few. Now, they were all who remained of their people.

Sylvanas Windrunner had committed genocide.

It’s important to note that there’s no indication that quote is anything but a third-person perspective. It was not Tyrande’s thoughts nor words.

So to answer who said it, the writer of Elegy said it.

The power ‘cannot’ be shared, as demonstrated by Therinax and Qadarin who tried to share the power between themselves and perished.

The only change that occurred among the Night Elves present when Tyrande completed the ritual is that their eyes turned black. Which happened to any Night Elf that fought in Darkshore post ritual, provided they fought in Elune’s name. No other special powers were given.

I’ve looked at that page by the way, and the source for that claim does not hint at any sharing of power, and there are no references to the power being shared post BFA. Shandris makes no mention of it at all, despite the fact that she was there when the ritual was completed, as was Maiev who also received no special powers from the ritual’s completion.

And yet, the night fae storyline has you doing exactly that, with the spirits.

Tyrande will live and suffer zero repercussions from her selfish act.

sigh

This has to be one of the saddest ways to explain story in video game history.

I have found that largely ignoring, ‘The Story’, makes the game much more pleasant.

The parts I like, I like. The other parts, just don’t happen in ‘My Azeroth’.

TBH I don’t think enough night elves died…

The horror of a video game doing fantasy things that are irrelevant in real life. Think of the children

You’re not wrong, and I do wish that we saw it play out in game, or at least in a novel or comic, but we have to work with what we get.

Literally this tbh, WoW as both a game and lore is an actual steaming pile of garbage in comparison to that game.

I wish Fandral Staghelm was leader of the night elves

You are taking this WAY too seriously, I’m not sure if you can tell the difference between a video game and reality

Fixed that for you.

Fixed that for you.

We could be living a glorious existence like the Mantid, Korven the Prime; described.

But no. The Titans had to mess it all up. :frowning:

Sylvanas is responsible for scuttling the undercity, FYI.

Did you forget that blizzard dedicated an entire major lore character to bringing justice to those events? Just because it hasn’t been addressed yet doesnt mean it won’t be.

You mean the one that other major lore characters are now saying is losing control and implying she may have to be stopped? That major lore character?

If Sylvannas got off and everyone should be buddy buddy with her then I would agree we should all complain heavily to Blizzard for that. Till then we have no idea if she is even going to pay for the crimes she committed. Let us just take the story for what it is right now. She made some seriously bad mistakes in her quest to fix things and killed a lot of people by doing so to power the Jailer. Anduin is getting to that part of her that knows she messed up. Is this a redemption for her? Hell no. Even people who think they are doing the right thing for a righteous cause has to face the music sooner or later. Let’s let the story pan out and if she doesn’t face the music then let’s complain.

Does it? It did gave me this impression at all.

I assume you are not playing as a Night Fae.

Doesn’t seem like it.

Well, Tyrande seems to be pretty hot on her pursuit of justice, maybe even too hot.

What is giving you the impression that they will be ignored?

Oh wow.

Oh so you know about this… why are you saying that this is an issue being ignored then?

Did we? I’m not aware of this.

Yes, and we were also told that there is a way to save her, and the Night Fae campaign seems to be pretty focus on making her live.

They seem to really like them.

To give weight to the things happening. No one would care if a random tuskar vilage burnt to the ground, but the capital to one of the most beloved races, now that is important.

Give it a bit of time. Lorewise not much time passed.
