The story about Varian doesn’t involve a lot of locations and there’s a great antagonist with family drama. That would be the safest plot to write for a series. 
edit: Then season two will focus on Northrend with the Argent Tournament and the drama over Bolvar’s supposed lost. Saurfang will also get focus for what is building to happen near the end of the season at icecrown.

Really don’t need this. I am to afraid they will ruin the original content, with some agenda. Anything Netflix or Disney does these days has some hyper liberal focused agenda. I’m all for inclusion when it fits a stories original script. What I don’t want to see is changing something because that is how they wish to influence society.
With that said In my dreams I’d love to see a full on Arthas series from his childhood to his eventual defeat at Icecrown, and Id want it to be rated R, all the original fans of warcraft are in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. We don’t want to see a PG13 Lich King. We want the Knight King and not a watered down Darth Vader.
WILL NEVER HAPPEN. So please don’t do it.

It’s a story about Budd and the adventures he goes on. The show’s title is ‘World of Warcraft: I’m a Manataur’ and stars Brendan Fraser as Budd.

I would actually animate the LFG mag in wow style, he already has great stories There is a Richard youtube short movie already so the mechanics have been in place for years

The fan in me would say cata, fix derpwing to be the villian he should of been and cut out the timetravel green jesus none sense.
If looking for commercial success would say war2 - straightforward but plenty of drama hooks and of course action with room for tv/movie adjustments

The Warcraft movie highlights a ton of vanilla wow major story underpinnings already for the conflict.
As weird as it sounds, probably burning crusade is your most unique story/setting that isn’t already tapping into a saturated market. It’s visually unique. Doesn’t feel too Star Wars and it doesn’t feel too fantasy. It may actually work. Probably the push on black temple for story though.
LK would be the best story to market but game of thrones already did it (but better). It wouldn’t feel unique at all now.
Cata could work as a kaiju movie, but only as a kaiju movie. Would be hard to start out of the gate with it though, because viewers need attachment to what’s getting destroyed. Great for fans, hard to pull in new audience. Probably a neat sequel.
Wod is a cluster, animated series material at best. Although I could see borrowing themes to roll into the BC film.
MoP would feel too king fu panda I think, again, looking for what would make it unique.
Legion is ok, but wouldn’t translate well to non game media. It’s a major story arc without any build up for who or what the main cast are. No way to tell the story without build up. A smaller scale focus on just suramar would be fine though, and how they deal with the politics and invasion of the legion. Maybe include the player races sacking the city afterwards to wrench power from the elite. Legion would just be story building materially basically.
BFA relies too much on prior story.
Shadowlands relies too much in prior story.
Dragon flight could work, but it seems pretty safe.
With Netflix’s track record of producing shows for one season and then canceling them. I would vote for going with HBO they wanted to produce more shows and seasons for GoT so if you approach them with a new fantasy series they might latch right on it and give you a budget bump to get it going.

I’d go with Apple TV. See was one of my favorite shows, such good action scenes and it was the ideal length too, not drawn out and not cancelled / cut short.
As for the story to a WoW show, the answer is obviously Arthas and his journey to becoming the Lich King.

Arthas would be a very good story to run with as its more of a “standard” fantasy at least at the start, and you wouldn’t need to do an info dump right at the beginning to get the audience up to speed.

The plot would follow the strong female characters of warcraft and how they continually save Azeroth from the bumbling mistakes of the patriarchy.
The main actors would be Rachel Zeglar as Jaina, Gal Gadot as Sylvanus, Dylan Mulvaney as Tyrande and Meryl Streep as Alextrasza.
I’d also hire Kathleen Kennedy to oversee the project.
It follows a family of murlocs, but it’s set in 1960’s America, where the father works, the mother stays at home, the kids go to school. It’s your traditional early days sitcom, but everyone is a murloc. Nothing they say makes any sense but you still get it.
Thrall, Slyvanas, Baine, Lor’themar Theron, and Gazlowe, staring in an animated sitcom similar to Family Guy called “The Azerothian Horde”. All i need to do is find a talking wolf that happens to have different values from the rest of them, and get this idea to get least have 3 seasons on Adult Swim, and were good to go. 
Don’t know who the actors for those chars would be, never thought of that far.
