This is ridiculous.
If you aren’t going to enforce the rules you already have, then you need to get rid of chat.
There is a rule of no disruptive chat, and yet that’s all that goes on. And don’t post the “Well you can leave chat or use ignore” line of crap. People shouldn’t have to leave general or put someone on ignore all because they cannot follow the rules YOU BLIZZARD put in place. That’s crap.
but if you do want to say that then you shouldn’t be having rules then. There is no point in telling people to use ignore or leave chat when people sill abuse RCR and screw the person over anyway…What it isn’t enough that someone can leave chat or use ignore, but you also have to allow an abusive system on top of people not following rules. If someone leaves general chat or people put an individual on ignore, then all RCR reports against that individual shouldn’t count.
Example, people spamming general with LFG then causing massive arguments by swearing at anyone who politely tells people to use the LFG channel. They then use RCR to abuse the person that told them to stop spamming general. now the person breaking the rules not only used a system to get revenge, but is still spamming general, and by the time you guys do eventually get tot he ticket, the damage is already done and the person got away with abusing the system and the person who got punish didn’t deserve it. So why if people used ignore was that person still punished it doesn’t matter if it gets overturned, the damage was already allowed to happen.
Eventually getting to people isn’t good enough, neither is overturning things that shouldn’t have even been allowed to happen in the first place. People should be following rules and those that don’t need to have consequences applied to them.
The longer you allow this to go on, the further and further back logged your tickets will be. and the more people will continue doing it because you have too many tickets to deal with so it gives off the impression nothing is going to happen. So it becomes a free-for all.
The real question that needs to be asked is why are you trying to police something you can’t? Instead of wasting all this stupendous amounts if time, effort, and resources into something you cannot win against, and causing yourself more and more work and backlog Why not just remove chat and be done with it.
Removing chat accomplishes the exact same thing you’re trying to police and can’t and solves abut 5 others issues all at the same time.
People do not need general chat to talk there is Whisper, party and guild chat which is enough. As it is now allowing general chat isn’t working and people shouldn’t be being subjected to all this crap then being told to leave chat or ignore people.
