That probably has more to do with how broken affliction was in CN.
None of that changes the original comment I responded too was wrong.

never said it was wrong; just said thereâs more to it then just âL2Pâ.
Your statement about only time for one drain life is wrong.
So yes it is a learn to play issue.
so youâre telling me, if i went on my lock and recorded attacking a target dummy right now, once i casted all my initial dots setup that thereâs room for more than one drain soul channel without any dots running out?
Thanks for proving my point that itâs a learn to play issue.
yep, if you say soâŚ
Then you donât like DoT based rotations.
If Drain Soul refreshed Agony then the rotation would be:
Drain Soul
Refresh UA once every 18 seconds
Cast MR to avoid capping soul shards
Now that sounds boring. Refreshing and managing your DoTs is the entire point of Affliction, but thatâs what youâre trying to remove. Not every spec is a spec youâll like.
I agree that Drain Soul should be baseline though.
You can absolutely cast multiple Drain Souls between DoT refreshing.
With my current build, Absolute Corruption + PS I can cast 4.5 Drain Souls between refreshing my DoTs.
If I purposely make my build as chaotic as possible (Haunt & Siphon Life) I can still get in almost 2 full Drain Souls.
With that said, there is no requirement on DS that says it has to be fully channeled. Shadowy Embrace is stacked before 1 full channel, and its a tick based spell as long as you cut it off right after a tick you donât lose value.
Anyways. My point is Aff is well designed in this regard because there is a DoT focused build, and a relaxed Drain Soul focused build. Itâs really up to the player.
I just donât understand what was so bad about Soul Swap that they got rid of it. Putting full dots on someone with one instant cast was so satisfying.
Probably the most satisfying warlock gameplay Iâve ever experienced.
