Thank you! Absolutely agree with this! 100%
No. But PvP absolutely is, and there are many other problems as well. I think even you would admit that.
I think your problem is, you not only think Classic is better than retail, but youâre actually having fun playing Classic, even with its problems. So when you hear âClassic is ruinedâ, you have a kind of visceral reaction, because it doesnât make any sense that a game you are enjoying playing could be ruined.
What aspects have shined nicely? Compared to what? Retail?
I played Vanilla, and I played on the pservers. Classic is worse in pretty much every possible way.
The only people who like Classic are people who never played the pservers and are just happy that Blizzard didnât put in microtransactions and pet battles.
OK, perfect, now letâs go over the other problems, that I do acknowledge.
Agreed, and I donât think itâll ever get âfixedâ. See, Iâm of the position BGs should be Server bound, only. No Cross-realm. And un-timed.
Letâs see if I remember what they were: Imbalanced Servers, lack of Black Lotuses and increased Server Caps.
Not âlife or deathâ problems, no.
I do think Classicâs overall gameplay is better than the Standard game, yes. But, Iâm not parading it around as a âfactâ. Difference. And, Iâm still enjoying it, even with its problems because the concept of Classic, is still in tact. Iâm with you (I really hope you understand that), that they shouldnât have altered the other things like upping the Server Caps and changing the way the AV Que system works. I donât think Server Imbalances will ever get fixed, and I donât see how that will ruin (as in destroy) Classic.
Which is why Iâm all ears, even though I do agree itâs not perfect, I donât think itâs in an apocalyptic state.
As I expressed before, actually having old Azeroth back. No split up Barrens (as in that lava crack between Northern and Southern Barrens). No flooded Thousand Needles. No flying in Azeroth. The real dungeons back, as in not the shortened WC/ST or altered Deadmines, SFK, SM, etc. No Blood Elves pretending to be Horde. No Shamans for the Alliance, nor Paladins for the Horde. The rest of the QoL changes like LFD, LFR, Duel-Specs, etc.
EDIT: Again, for the record, I have played on Private Servers. Because, at the time, it was the only way to play the game, as it was.
Who would have thought any of these things would be in Classic? I came from the pservers, so I took all of this for granted. And had Blizzard introduced any of these things, most people would have gone straight back to the private servers.
And coming from the private servers, I expected Classic to be a better version of the private servers. What has the pserver people so annoyed, is that Classic feels like a massive downgrade. Things donât work right(spell-batching), or Blizzard made bad decisions that hurt the game(IE the entire PvP situation and server imbalances).
To say thatâs âonlyâ the type of players who enjoy Classic is putting forward information that has really no evidence behind it. And itâs worse in every possible wayâŚto you. I enjoy the PvE side of the game along side with the community aspect that my realm has brought. Tons of RP, PvE and even PvP to be had.
Did you even play Vanilla? Or the pservers?
Nope. Not sure what that has to do with anything though.
I did because I wanted all of this back, coming from the Standard game and having played through the actual destruction and ruin (pun intended) of Azeroth. There was no way to access it without a Private Server. And now, Classic.
I would say so. I missed the old layout.
Had Blizzard introduced QoL changes and âre-vampâ the world, again, I agree with you. No one would blink twice at Classic.
Again, I donât think Blizz can really do anything about Server Imbalances nor PvP. They can get rid of the Spell-batching and Server Caps.
lol get more upset child
My main complaint is with crossrealm BGâs. I firmly believe that the imbalance never would have gotten so bad if there wouldnât have been crossrealm BGâs. But horde on 75/25 servers saw no reason to reroll or leave because they would get the same queue times as everyone else. And now you have some servers that are like 99% horde, but with xrealms it doesnât really matter.
Iâm also annoyed with spell-batching, black lotus, and what they did to AV.
For the most part, we do agree ![]()
EDIT: After 9H (holy moly) ![]()
Classic is a great game, better than retail.
The community on my server is the best.
People are still helping people.
I
I was expecting Blizzard to make bad decisions.
Yes I came from a private server.
Will I go back that depends on a lot of factors.
Yes one of them being the community, forums and in game.
Community is trash because everyone is a tryhard (in either pve or pvp) but thats cause people are awful in general and has nothing to do with the game.
And ye blizz screwed up too.
Its still playable though. Until they add tokens or force you into either that classic+ nonsense ppl keep bringing up or TBC.
Just service the servers and fix the bugs and dont touch the game any further, thanks!
Come on dude.
No do not alter my original statement. I said what I said. People are tryhards. You literally have to go to a RP-server to meet 2006 minded ppl. All horde pvpers are orc if they can cause of the racial abuse. priest only dwarf on ally side pls cause of fear ward⌠etc
Everyone rolling bis PvE races. I get laughed at for having a nelf rogue. Cause its not bis in pve and it isnt bis in PvP. Everyone plays it like its some olympic sport. Atleast in my experience. And they can, just pointing out that it takes away from the game. Its perfectly fine to play a game this way but its about the same mentality as if you play settlers of catan and you have 2 ppl out of 4 in there that studied every strategy of the game and somehow managed to forget that overall its just a game and probably should not be taken as seriously.
So, I created a Human Mage, on the only Classic NA Normal RP Server. Before I even left the noobie pen, I made two âfriendsâ. By âfriendsâ, I mean a positive influence. First, I buffed them. Second, I just began RPing with them. Not to my surprise (maybe to others) they began interacting with me back.
My favorite is the topless Rogue. I had asked him why he didnât have a shirt on. He said because it didnât have any âstatsâ on it LOL As I continued my adventure, we kept running into each other. I stated how happy I was to see him, again. We didnât Group up, not yet, anyway. But, low and behold, a Leather Chest piece dropped, for me. But the Rogue was long gone. Until, I ran into him, again. I told him how happy I was to be reunited with him because I found a shirt that he might like, and he gladly accepted. We began helping Milly out with her Harvest and killing the Garrick guy, together.
The other âfriendâ (via positive person I ran into), I just kept buffing and /waving. Along with saying how happy I was to see them, again. Even though she âsnakedâ my kill (honestly, I didnât notice, nor do I care if people do). She apologized, and I just said that everything was OK, and Iâm happy to help. We RPâd walk from the Human noobie pen, all the way to Inn.
Moral of the story is, the Community is out there, you just gotta make the initiative/remain positive. Best Level 1 - 6 of my life (metaphorically speaking)!
Thatâs fine, youâre welcome to your opinion. If everyone is behaving a certain way, I believe that makes you the outlier.
I donât agree that makes them toxic.
Do nelves get the improved stealth in classic? If not, yeah I guess thatâs a low tier pick.
It is toxic, because it conjures prejudice amongst players. Im in a raiding guild where non humans are âforcedâ (very encouraged!!!) to go daggers as rogues and humans have prio on swords, because of some trashy racials.
You can call me the âoutlierâ but it doesnt change the fact that people are try hards and to be smiled at imho. This game is fun, but if you start to take it seriously you can actually see that its balance is laughable. In pve and pvp. So I always get a kick out of people that go bollocks of it. And ye people can be very toxic if you do not adhere to the âbis-scheduleâ.
Something that certainly was barely present in vanilla at this stage of the gameâs cycle.
