Blizzard, Cut It Out with the FOMO Tricks!

And there are people who have been farming for 10 years and have still never seen it drop. Sorry, but that’s flat out not okay. Low drop rates are fine. Rare items are fine. But at least with most of them, you can farm them on a weekly basis, year round. This method just sucks.

Welcome to holiday events. People out here acting like this is new to the game or something. Get over it, and better luck next year.

FOMO works.

Every successful Gacha game relies upon FOMO.

No. We’re not. People have been upset about this ever since it came out. Quit being a snotty 12 year old brat, saying “welcome to “X” event, get over it.” The premise is dumb and just promotes people feeling discouraged and annoyed.

Again, it’s not a new concept. RNG is not always going to be your friend. People are just wanting handouts at this point, and that’s quite literally all it is. If the drop rate is 1% on something, you can run it 100 times and see it drop once. Maybe. And that’s how most mount things are. Not all sure, but definitely most.

No. You’re being ignorant. Did you just miss the part where I said people have been doing this for a DECADE? How in the holy hell is that wanting a handout? I’m up to 385 runs this year alone - where did I ask for a handout? This mount has a .0003% chance of dropping. And you get 2 weeks per YEAR to get it. That. Is. Ridiculous.

I had no problem farming Invincible for years, because at least I got multiple chances per week, as many weeks as I wanted to run it. Putting in this kind of effort, just to be given the finger and told wait another 50 weeks only to be disappointed again, should not just be dismissed as “RNG being RNG, get over it.”

God, what a sad and pathetic person you must be. I almost feel bad for people like you. Almost.

RNG can definitely be a roller coaster of emotions. It’s one of those core gaming mechanics that keeps us on our toes, but it can also be a tough pill to swallow when luck isn’t on our side. The grind is real, and I think we all respect that. However, when the odds are so slim and the opportunities so limited, it can cross over from challenging to disheartening, especially when you’re hundreds of runs deep with no luck.

On the other hand, rarity adds value to the items and a sense of achievement when you finally snag that elusive drop. But maybe there’s a middle ground? Perhaps increasing the drop rate slightly or extending the event duration could help alleviate some of that disappointment without handing things out too easily. We’re not looking for handouts; we’re looking for a glimmer of hope in the grind. It’s about finding balance — rewarding dedication without making it feel like an impossible task

Because I made an observation that everyone that complains about Fomo is bad at the game and so far it’s true.

I don’t see any good players complaining about it.

Because it’s not real and it’s a cope tool. As is calling me a troll because you can’t handle an observation.

That’s me saying I am better than most players but not a top player.

Good players can see bad players are bad as well.

Lucky for me I’m not a bad player :joy:

So, you say. I would assume you are average since most players are.

how is a ‘manuscript’ a must have?

Then what do you call me, I’m a 2800 M+ score Hunter, that Had AOTC week 6 of this raid. and is progressing on mythic with my guild at a casual but still killing bosses pace so we don’t burn ourselves out

so I am what you call “Bad at the game”. Maybe you should go troll another Thread

why would the vendor have them from an RP perspective?

I would say I’m above average but not great.

Can’t say that I have

Let me guess, you define skill at playing WoW in terms of mythic + clear times, boss kills and ilvl? Or possibly PVP rating.

While not incorrect, there are many ways to be good at the game which don’t necessarily jive with those.

Got it, and for us completionists, that manuscript is more than just a customization—it’s a milestone. It’s like getting that final stamp in your passport or finishing a collection you’ve been working on for ages. Completionists thrive on the satisfaction of ‘full completion’ in our gaming adventures, and special customizations are a big part of that. Without that manuscript, our dragon mount collection feels incomplete. It’s not just about flying on a dragon; it’s about completing a set, fulfilling a goal, and achieving a sense of completion. So, while it may not unlock a new game level, it unlocks a level of personal achievement that we’re all chasing. For us, it’s the difference between finishing a game and mastering it.

Fair enough friend.

Since you asked,

Not good.

In an inflated season as a BM hunter lol. T

Which is kinda sad and your parses are below average as a BM hunter.

You have like 3 kills. You’re in a heroic guild that gets some early mythic bosses down.

Yes since you asked.

I’d love a good laugh at this explanation.
