So i am a returning player , playing healer and running dungeons to get comfortable again. I actually had to start again after i came back and err started again…
(I leveled a toon to 68 with questing (stories i have not heard etc) and then tried to heal a group in a 5 man and no go, so i started again with another toon and decided to take things slower by turning off XP and learning what talents work and when…
I am having more fun as i get better but i have noticed that…
99% of groups just hammer through the dungeon. I have trouble keeping up with some classes that have ‘jump ahead’ abilities. (not keeping up as in healing though this sometimes happens as well but keeping up as in walking with them as they rush ahead and pull more mobs as soon as they are comfortable they wont lose Aggro from the previous mob.
God forbid i look away from my unit frames and decide to enjoy the graphics / look around at things I have not seen people might die and i would probably get abused.
If i decide to watch a cinematic that i have not seen, people die and I get abused.
If people die on a boss fight i have not played, I get abused.
I have not been kicked yet but I have noticed other players on the forums having problems with that in posts.
Im not going to stop playing healer, i love it, but does Blizzard even consider new players in this game when they release new content / expansions?
You lure new players in with special discounts and not inform them about the ridiculous learning curve in this game.
How are you supposed to enjoy the story line with all the elitest bs in this game?
Dont get me started on wait times for BG’s to learn group PvP, it basically doesnt exist and you cant learn until you hit max level…epic fail Blizz.
Why do tanks and dps get target dummies and healer classes have to learn the hard way / adjust tactics on the fly etc.
I literally cant use my main character with my GM title from vanilla because im so bad now that people would just think I paid for it…do you even notice all the ‘trade’ chat about people selling titles / achievements /raid completions etc in this game now. Gold selling used to be ban-able but now Blizzard (well not OG Blizzard but whoever owns Blizzard now) even sells game time for gold farming.

There are healer target dummies.

I believe there’s a healing dummy in your garrison

At 68 you pretty much have all your talents and since you did wqing you pretty much know how they work . Dungeons and raid reflect on what you learn from wqing, but problem is the people you run with, I take it you’re queuing for them, they changed the way it’s play now it’s ,fast pace ,pull all you can and hope you throw heals fast work, it’s better if you had a group like a guild than a pug.
In the long run there is no touring them ,no socializing ,nothing.

Wrath was the last time we did dungeons for fun. Now it’s just a race. If you want adventure you’ll need a guild that pretty much specializes in it now.

If you need help learning, your best bet is friends or maybe a Discord. I don’t know if WoW Made Easy does that sort of thing or not.
Also: feel free to poke at me and I can try to get a chill group going for you to learn and test stuff out.

It’s not a fun time for new or returning players (who’ve been gone a few years). People are trying very hard to turn this into a lobby game, sit in town playing dress up and showing off mounts people don’t actually care about, while waiting for their queues to pop. Even more unfortunate is that they are slowly succeeding. They blast through content as fast as they can and care about no one but themselves.
Those of us who still enjoy the RPG aspect, the questing, what’s left of the mangled lore and the learning first hand are being pushed out.

I’m guessing this isn’t helping much with your healing

Are they in their healing set?
they’re resto, with resto weapons… along with cloth gloves which also isn’t helping their cause.

There was a time when wearing cloth gear on a resto Druid was no big deal. You just went with whichever had the best stats because you never got hit.

My brother in Christ, the “gogogo” meme was literally christened in Wrath.

That is a ‘them’ problem, not a ‘you’ problem. Tanks and/or dps who charge ahead and leave their healer behind, or where they lose line of sight, are beating themselves up. It happens, sadly, at all levels of instances.
There isn’t much Blizzard can do about it. Sometimes it isn’t the game’s fault, it’s the players. And all you can do is the play to the best of your ability and deal with occasional fools, who will always appear in a randomized group at some stage.
Just do what you do, and let them do what they do and if it gets too awful, leave the group after the first boss and try for a better experience with another group.

Not a single complaint you made was about a “broken game”. You’re mad at the player base, but per usual the one you put the blame on is Big Brother Blizzard. And why? Because it’s the easiest route for you to take. Sad.

That’s the player base mentality now. Long gone are the days of the wonder, the taking time to enjoy the game, looking about the world, etc. That all died years ago.
Now it’s now now now, go go go, faster, faster faster, gear gear gear, sims, dps charts, etc. Efficiency and getting most for your time are the enjoyment now. As Captain Hook described: “I want, I want, I want, me, me, me, me, mine, mine, mine, mine, now, now, now, now!”. That’s the current gaming mentality.

idk wym bc theyre still racin the clock there too. i just did gundrak like 2 hrs ago, my pal was running like he lost his mind, i could barely drink lol. he then got pissed off the hunter was taking too long to get to the afk dwarf boss and left lol. hell at launch some would kick you if you werent dpsing in bis from tbc gear in utagard keep a lvl 68 dungeon. wrath was the start of the retail dungeon fall lets be honest lol. still fun tho
The game itself isn’t broken but the rushing through dungeons is a direct result of the M+ e-sports mentality that is harming the game IMO. There is a huge learning curve and you’ll need a guild to find people that will actually work with you.
We had a timewalking BC Bloodfurnace and several times the tanks would gather the bombers and explode, then blame me for not healing. It was comical but shows the state of everything right now.
