Blizzard being scared to just give blood elves blue eye option

You’re analyzing a different time period? The playerbase and their perspective in 2004 is not going to be the same in 2019/2020.

It was gold in the flashback.

There are different blue eyes in this case. There are teal eyes as well that are linked to Belves. And not listed as NPC only.

Believe me when I tell you it won’t make threads stop, if anything it’ll still continue. I’ve even seen pro-helf players support the idea of giving Belves blue eyes… so that tells you something.

Plus, Ion already said it wouldn’t make sense for them to get the option as it stands, due to their mutation (take that as you will) and explained that they’ve changed in a sense due to that mutation. Also, if there’s still any arcane energy in the sunwell, it’s probably faint, as they said it was depleted.

High Elves aren’t as reliant on the Sunwell because they abstained from arcane rather then overdosed like the Blood Elves as for Chronicles.

And this would only be true if all Blood Elves lost their green eyes as well.

On the plus side the sheer vigor with which antis crowed about their victory and bashed pros might make blizzard rethink their stances when they realize these are the people they are backing. Would be sweet irony however unlikely it is is.

Blizzard has their own agenda that seems independent of anything posted on the forums. Whether it be constructive feedback or not. So I wouldn’t count on it.

Not really back then we had no concrete evidence just alliance propaganda swearing they were more popular till the Horde got blood elves.

Classic proves this wrong.

We are still in canon a part of the Alliance at the point of Garithos. It is still canon that he was what droves Elves out. That has not changed at all. Small details unrelated to our alliance with Lordaeron have changed about Belves. But not who we allied with. It’s just said that the oath made between the King of Lordaeron and the King of the High Elves was fulfilled before that time. And it was and those Kings are dead.

Because the alliance wasn’t welcoming to them.

Not exactly a retcon

That was never the case

It was never retconed, it was rebuilt.

do your research, they were always possible and even hinted at in TBC

Neither of those break the lore, go do your research.

Wrong again

Blizzard is basically bullying the alliance

That’s basically what blizzard is doing.

They told them no to high elves being added flat out but continue to shove high elves down the alliance narratives throat.

“NPC ONLY COSMETIC” they’re literally still working for high elf aesthetics for no reason at all… this would be if ogres were all over the Horde and thrown in our faces constantly like we don’t have plenty non ogre races that need the spotlight.

If you’re not going to give the alliance high elves blizzard why do you keep putting the spotlight on that race like the Alliance don’t clearly have void elves and Night elves to fill that void.

Reading this thread makes my head hurt.

i dont see why you cant have blue eyes. the only big problem is, and its really not a big problem technically speaking, is the only visual that separated an alliance high elf from a horde blood elf, is eyecolor. if they give that to the horde, the suggestion is the devs just gave alliance high elves to the horde, after 15 years of alliance players begging to be able to play the alliance allied high elves. then it became the principle of the thing.

when high elf fans heard blood elves were getting blue eyes, the reaction was varied. my reaction was -thats great except its causing high elf fans to quit the game as the only thing they were holding onto was the fleeting, 15 year hope, that the alliance would finally get playable high elves.

teal or aqua eyes for blood elves seem reasonable though. teal’s my favorite color

No because the well was destoryed before she became a void elf she didnt notice it nor even know it was destroyed. The gamesore states the elf connected to it can use its power anywhere and at anytime in the universe. It states the elf not all high elfs.

They can cut the connection as they choose.

Because by your logic they would have been connected to it regardless of when so the second she became a void elf and the others did as well they all would have exploded and died.

I think they’ll do teal since it’s more green. I am not really stuck on the blue eyed thing. Just want more customization. I like the idea of red and purple more. And with there being different group looks for Nelves, Trolls and Dwarves, I’ve been hoping for some Dark Ranger or San’layn like looks at the very least.

The blue eyes that were even teased didn’t look like High Elf eyes so I never felt they were giving us those. Since their eyes look human. But I did think it was more possible that it’s a NPC option or for Void Elves.

The whole blue-eyed thing has escalated to silly levels. A Blood Elf with blue eyes is that, a Blood Elf with blue eyes.

Why people get caught up in this small cosmetic difference is really not the point that matters-- rather it is the rich history of conflict and faction loyalty that are the defining features of elves that were reborn as the blood flavour, and those that remained Quel’Dorei.

as a velf female, i’m supposed to have blue eyes, but its such a pale shade of blue, and velf female eyes are so big, you cant see the blue. i’d love that purple/pink color, but i am not convinced at this point, that velfs are actually getting customizations. those colors in the folder for velfs are likely already in bfa on players and npcs.

Yup, so just add humans to horde on that premise and add belves to ally as high elves, problem solved.

It would make sense though if they want wrap up what the High Elves are doing.

Void Elves have usurped the possibility of the Quel’Dorei joining playable ranks, and to me the only way in is for them to join the Void Elves-- and Blizzard would be gracious if they gave us blue eyes and normal skin tones to reflect that.

except this is false

Blood elves can be less reliant on the sunwell as any other elf, you can’t just pick what they do and don’t, the farstrider and other warriors don’t rely that much on the sunwell and its explained how they didn’t suffer much from the withdrawn

elves who overdosed became witchered, or whatever they call, blood elves didn’t.
Anything you want to apply to one elf, can be applied to other

There still blood elves warlocks who would use fel magic and they eyes would still be green, blizzard will not remove an option who is there since TBC, Danouser explained that when golden eyes were added

Not rly, dataminers in this time found then in the Blood elf customization options, not just for NPCs, and thats why they put that on wowhead, they said on the twitch channel

That is not the point

it is stated all high elves are also connected, in the shadow of the sun lorthemar talk to high elves exiled and they were connected as well

If so, blood elves can do that too.

Yes, Alleria is a special case because blizzard is inconsistent, her eyes in canon are green, but her model have blue eyes, her eyes should not be arcane blue because she spend thousand years beside fel magic fighting the legion, her eyes would also be green, but Blizzard didn’t want to create more fighting, cause people can’t understand nuances

why they would do that? they were just connected, not inside of it, their transformation broke their connection
