i just want to give credit to Blizz for when they get something right (too often they just get yelled at).
The game is way better since gdkp is banned b/c now players have to play the game instead of buying with credit card
This cuts down on fake gold inflating the economy and AH.
i joined a raid where we just roll for gear and won 3 pieces and didn’t need any gold. Thank you blizzard for making WOW feel vanilla again

Yes it’s great.
Banning GDKPs was the best thing they ever did.

Yes blizzard thanks. You have reduced the amount of Bots and RMT going on by atleast 90%. Your plan worked. Loot is finally fair and everyone is getting gear without swiping. And I don’t have to see bots running around the world or bot spam in trade.!

Thank you very much for upholding the spirit of the MMORPG by banning GDKPs.
Low demand means they have to lower the price. Clearly, it’d be cheaper on Era when nobody’s purchasing it.

was never about that. Use that brain of yours maybe youll come up with a logical reason they banned it and it might be conherent.
So Blizz banning GDKPs was never about trying to reduce the amount of RMT and Bots? I thought that was the entire reason for it aside from the vocal minority wanting it gone.

they wanted to reduce the amount of gold getting laundered so they can track and spend more time on tracking gold in straight up rmt. should be logical to see blizzard didnt want to deal with looking at every person in a gdkp that recieved 1000g+ seeing if they were legit or not its just better to ban it so they can put whatever other man power into the other things

I only levelled to 60, got pre-raid bis on Anniversary then stoped playing because real life was too busy. Has there been a massive drop in Bots/spamming in trade chat/boosters with the banning of GDKPs?
yes banning GDKP is the best thing they have done.
Now why does my thread get closed yet this one remains open?!?
Banning GDKPs was to stop players stealing money of players in a ruse to claim it is better for the overall population.
Blizzard dont want you having a piece of their pie simple as.

Bots still exist, boosters spam in /services, all just ailments of a mega-server. Everyone is crammed together and we’re all feeling the strain.
True.
On a positive note tho, as an average Joe, you can join one of many pug raids without feeling compelled to buy gold.

The point was never to eliminate (or even reduce) the botting problem. The point was to massively reduce the raiding population, and by that measure the ban was a massive success.

Every item that you wouldn’t have been easily able to afford in a GDKP is now just HRed instead as an “average joe”.

Yeah I’ve heard every dungeon and raid is plagued with big items being HR’d. That kind of sucks. Went from not being able to outbid whales in a GDKP to not even being able to roll in a SR.

Yes, this is exactly it. We’re already paying a subscription fee for access to our accounts. That is the only money anyone should ever have to spend to play the game.
Don’t start bringing up how consumes are significantly more expensive on anniversary than they ever were with GDKPs.
All this botted gold has to go somewhere… and since it can’t be used to buy gear…
Inflation wayyyyyyy up. Astronomically up.
Anniversary servers are losing population during its most popular phase
Think about that.
Imagine living in a fantasy world where you believe this

They banned GDKPs because they thought RMT would come to a screeching halt…
What’s hilarious is it hasn’t and gold buying is as bad as ever.
Consumes are insanely expensive and no real way to make gold… soooo gotta go buy it.
