So the rating only applies to transmog? That’s weird. ![]()
Welcome to western (US mostly) media. Violence is acceptable entertainment. But any hint of nudity/sexuality and people freak out like you kicked a puppy into a croc pit.
So why would being able to hide pants on transmog be any different than just taking them off? I don’t think the rating’s board cares if it gives you stats or not.
Sincerely doubt this will happen even though we still have non-removable undies. As far as realism goes, plate slutmogs have never made much sense to me, but whatever. Besides, we have plenty of “hidden pants” already in the Lion’s Pride Inn, no need to be on the front lines.
begone, thot
Like I said in my first response: It’s dumb. But you are arguing with a large corporation about money. T for Teen essentially means cartoon violence and no naught bits. In the puritan US, that includes people running around in their underwear. Which is also stupid because speedos and bikinis are a thing.
So no, I don’t see them giving up the pants restriction. I would like to think I am wrong.
Easy work around is adding bathing suits.
They essentially have those (Bloodscale, mageweave leggings, etc). It is the idea of taking off your pants and running around in your underwear that is the problem.
Like I said. It’s dumb in 2020
You are, or Black Mageweave Leggings wouldn’t exist.
Tauren heritage armor hides your pants entirely, I don’t think they have an argument for preventing other races having the no pants option.
They’re not bathing suits though since those are armor type specific. Blizzard should update Tanaris and Gadgetzan. Add a beach house that have a volleyball court and add a vendor that sells cosmetic bathing suits. There. Folks can be ‘naked’ and I can finally have my Gadgetzan metropolis. Everyone wins ![]()
See: post just above this one.
And mageweave leggings (and it’s clones) are not just panties. Take a closure look at them.
(Which is also amusing since the thigh high and panty look is considered ok.)
By the way, you know I am agreeing with you that it is a dumb restriction, yes? I am just offering a possible explanation why it exists.
I think the point people are trying to make is that we can already do this. If it were a problem, it would have been a problem in 2004 when we could still take off all our clothes and we had half naked night elves dancing on mailboxes.
The only difference with transmog is we have stats, and puritans aren’t really the type to suddenly get upset only now because we can have stats while being in our skivvies.
Logically they don’t. But since when do people behave logically when it comes to nudity/underwear in what is rated as a teen game? Especially in the US. We are really backwards in this country when it comes to these subjects.
I did see at one point Blizzard was trying to get a M rating or A i guess it did pan out.
Too late. I already did.
FF14 allows every piece of gear to be hidden, and it’s rated T. They even have some panties that are far more revealing than any I remember seeing in WoW, and they make your butt slightly bigger when you’re wearing them. This couldn’t possibly be the reason legs can’t be hidden.
They can’t because they’ll be forced to be re-rated 18+ with a nudity, and sexual content which they don’t want.
FF14 was made by a company in Japan tho. They have different ratings and get treated differently then a US-based company.
I don’t see how being able to transmog out of our pants would affect the rating when people can already just take their pants off and run around that way. It’s not changing anything. If they enable us to hide the underwear also, then we’ll talk.
Except they aren’t actually rated by the ESRB since it’s an online only game? Yeah that’s on the box for the content in the game but it also very clearly says “online play not rated by ESRB”
